March 7, 2020 - two weeks before the Covid 19 -community lockdown . We were able to get some fresh air in the mountains surrounding my humble town of Danao City. This highland with a panoramic view is one of our city's pride and treasures. We never regretted a single decision we made to visit the area before border restrictions tightened.
We liked how the wind gently hugged us as soon as we arrived in the area. What we love about visiting mountains is that, we were able to connect with the most authentic and true version of ourselves. It's as if being in the presence of something greater than ourselves alters our perspective and insight into life and the things that truly matter. It was our third visit to this highland, but we were still awestruck by the beauty it provided—it somehow brought us into a completely different county like New Zealand. It just refreshes our souls and brings us inner peace.
Because of the rough road, we considered our motorcycle ride to be an adventure itself. The way going uphill was not as bad as the way going downhill since we chose a different route. It started out as a smooth ride, but to our surprise, the dowhill road became bouncy and rocky all the way dowb to the exit. On the other hand, the scenic views while riding the motorcycle have allowed us to experience nature's beauty at a glance. We drove past some green foliage of ferns crawling into the ground and mahogany trees lining the road - a man made forest scenery.
We went home at the end of the trip, but we left a piece of our heart in the highlands. Maybe it's the fresh mountain air or it's breathtaking beauty but we swear, we felt so much better after a trip to the mountains. It's as if those highlands contain an energy source that we can tap into and feed us off. There's really no denying that mountains have healing powers.
