I've finally crossed another destination off my bucket list, this time Holy Island in Northumberland.
I've been wanting to visit here for years, and finally done it.
The downside was that we were pressed for time due to the tide, as this island gets cut off when the tide comes in. It's certainly created a need to come back for a proper photography trip.
I only had a couple of hours on the island, so I took what shots I could before heading back. I didn't know the tide was due back out about 6 ish, or I might have stayed knowing that :-)
The drive over feels so surreal, knowing that the part of road you are on will soon be covered with water.
(Playing with the 360 camera)
I ventured down to the old priory, where I started talking to a lovely woman who worked for English Heritage, she told me a couple of great locations of where I could get some shots of Lindisfarne, including the picture through the hole in the wall, this was an old fort and only a couple of walls remain overlooking the harbour.
(The shot above was on the taken from the old priory, through the fence, I had to get the timing right as there were lots of people around)
I'm intrigued as to what those pillars are...
After leaving Holy Island, we decided to head up to Scotland and visited a border town called Eyemouth, it's a quaint little seaside town, and looks like it's main source of income is from fishing, there's even a plaque to commemorate the wives and children of the village from when they lost half their fleet due to a freak storm, causing massive loss of life.
As I took this shot of this lovely looking building, I heard a little bit of a commotion to my left, as I walked down to find out what was happening, it turned out to be two seals, and people were feeding them with big clips, I've never seen anything like this before.
However, I could only get one of the seals in shot as the other was behind the big orange floaty thing (technical term lol).
So, overall today as been a fantastic day, although I ticked a place off my bucket list, it's just created a need to explore, this holiday has been a kind of recky for places I need to photograph, sadly, when you come on a family holiday, it's hard to get to the places when the light is nice, so I have to take shots with what I've got.
I hope my hive builds up enough so I can at least get a camper van so I can dissapear for a few months lol (fingers crossed).
But for now, I really hope you've enjoyed todays blog.
Thanks for reading and all the best :-)

This island is beautiful. It's a pity that it goes under water. And I think that during the time you are there, there is a stress to take the water every moment.
Fantastic place! I wish you a camper getaway very soon! 👋
