In January of 2020, I was on a cruise that stopped in San Juan, Puerto Rico and got to exercise my (amateur) photographer's eye.
We did a tour of a centuries-old castle / fortress called "El Castillo San Felipe del Morro" (El Morro, for short)
This amazing and famous landmark was originally built by the Spanish in the 1500s and it is one of Puerto Rico’s most recognizable landmarks...
I wanted to get some unusual or maybe less-than-common angles and shots, and here are some of them.
It was really a look back to how people may have lived several centuries ago - amazing and awe-inspiring.
There was so much to see, so much to photograph there.
It was a fun experience, seeing the sights and meeting some of the people. I was glad that I speak Spanish because lots of people there do, too.
The day before we got to port, there had been a decent-sized earthquake there on the island - a 6.4, which is a really good-sized quake.
This is some of the damage we saw upon landing.
As we set sail for our next stop, I relaxed and recalled the great times had in San Juan.
