Bears

After a couple of hours on the trail, I finally reached lower Rowe Lake. Just as the lake itself was becoming visible, I immediately saw a couple of black bears swimming across the lake. Wow. Excitement and a bit of fear went through me at that instant. I was alone, but did have a nice big can of bear spray in my pocket which gave me some sense of relief (some). Luckily, they did not see me and kept going across to the other side. I did manage to grab a couple of quick pics before they disappeared into the woods. This is probably the closest I have come to a bear encounter, and probably not my last. Have you had any bear encounters? If so, tell us about it. Thanks for stopping by.

Wow, thank God that you were on the other side of the lake and not on the side where the bear actually was. But, that's a beautiful shot though. I heard those bears can be excessively territorial as well as very aggressive too.
