The Cranbrook Community Forest is home to a few different lakes and ponds. This one is called Kettle “lake”, arguably more of a large pond than a lake. The hike there only took about a half hour with little elevation gain. Nice n easy it was. Fabulous weather was a bonus for that hike as well. Total time spent was about two hours in the forest. The trailhead is basically within the city limits of Cranbrook, which is so convenient for those that live here. A good reason to move here in the future perhaps..thanks for stopping by.

Yeah, I guess we can call it more of a pond instead of a lake as you've said. I think those that lives close to this place may probably enjoy coming here for a refreshing hike, but if they're permanently living here for long, they'll probably get tired of constantly going to one place. But, it's a beautiful place truly
Good point, I suppose it would become somewhat old after the umpteenth visit. That being said, with the weather and cloud formations, we'd get some variation.
Having a trailhead right inside city limits sounds super convenient for a quick afternoon escape. A half-hour walk with hardly any elevation gain is definitely my kind of hike.
Would love to live around here, maybe someday, we shall see...
Black and white photographs are good, but I prefer colourful photographs when it comes to this kind of photograph.
I understand that, in this comparison, the colours are also preferable to me too.
My focus was on the ducks playing in the water; they looked so happy playing there.
Indeed, have never met an unhappy duck!
A perfect day to spend amidst nature.
It was a memorable day for sure.
It looks so calm and demure...
Would be a very serene place in sure..
Serene is a good way to describe that afternoon.
lovely treeline. I was just watching some vids on building a pond.. :)
Building a pond? That is unusual. Thinking of building one?
A proper hike that starts basically inside the city limits is a rare luxury, and a kettle pond glowing under fall weather is a strong argument for staying local.
Can't go wrong staying local!
A half-hour stroll to a pond like that is a pretty good deal for a two-hour outing with the A7R III.
Short and sweet it was.
where the hike is short but the memories are long
Got that right.

STOPNature has its own unique beauty, and sometimes, all we need to do is slow down and appreciate it.
This is a perfect spot for a morning walk.
