Kootenay Side

One hot afternoon last Summer, we decided to drive to the Kootenay river and do some riverside walking and birdwatching. One of the folks in our group was an avid birdwatcher, so we walked and meandered around the riverbank at a very casual pace. No problem, sometimes you don’t always need to have a concrete hiking plan in place in order to have a good time. Great weather, except for a bit of smoke in the air from some distant forest fires. It seems every Summer lately forces us to deal with some smoke from time to time. Thanks for stopping by.

Oh man I am missing those green forests and wild mountain scapes. So great to visit them all the time from your perspective.

Spring/summer just around the corner...thankfully!!

It must be really fun to observe different things, without just joining in. The view is really beautiful.

Sometimes just “being there” is all it takes.

Forest fires always make me sad as often it's human fault and innocent animals die, old plants too... Very nice views here, relaxing

Sadly it seems to be the new reality as of late.

🎉🎉🥳 Congratulations 🥳🎊🎊

Thanks.

Those forest fires can be annoying, that smoke spreads for such long distances... Beautiful shots as always. Birds can be fun to watch, I'm not an expert by any means but can recognize most of the species around here. When are you heading out that way again?
