Little Olive

Just a hop, skip and jump away from the town of Radium is little Olive lake. Accessible from the highway, it is an easy stop for a few quick pics and some quiet time to enjoy the emerald green colour of the lake. As you can see, there are some fallen trees submerged here, in fact there are quite a few. It does add a very neat or even an eerie vibe to the experience. If you ever find yourself in the vicinity, due stop on by for a quick in and out look. Thanks for stopping by.

Omg, in the first photo, the blue and green colors go together so beautifully (they usually say those two colors don't go together), beautiful as always

Colours arranged by nature. Appreciate that!

What's the story behind naming this lake? Were there olive trees before?

Wonderful photograph, by the way!

It must be due to the fact that some shades of the water are olive coloured. Thanks as always.

The water looks quite still and makes me think the place is very quite. The last photo before the introduction of the black and white photography community is my favourite, those tall trees on the shore are beautiful :)

It was very quiet and serene. We were the only ones there!

Color beats black and white here in terms of visual appeal, bu black and white cannot be beat for visual perception -- and illusion -- of depth!

Well said (as always). Appreciate the deep comments.

The view of the lake is very beautiful and peaceful. The water is as clear as glass, and the fallen trees at the bottom of the lake are clearly visible. And I agree with what you said, it looks beautiful but there is a creepy feeling to it.

Also we were the only ones there at the time, but that is what I like. Thanks for looking.

I wonder why it's called olive, for the shape?

Great reflections there and a lot of trees fallen, I guess the lake eat some shore? Or they just grow everywhere and then collapse at a point

Probably because of the "olive" coloured water in certain spots.

It did strike me as peculiar, the excessive amount of fallen trees.

Do you think those were cut down at some point?

Because this lake is inside a national park, any cut trees would have been removed for sure.

The of the water is something out of a fairytale, wow. Looks magical. How did you take the last two pictures? It seems it was from the top?

Yes, I held the camera above my head and shot downward on this. Thanks for looking.

Rul nice reflections, just a jump away on a CR 250

Perhaps..

Awesome nature phothography series @daveks friend!
