Nature Conundrum

DSC00752.jpeg

A few more clicks as I made my way around (at least part way) Bertha Lake. At this point I was thinking to myself that I was stretching out this hike further than planned, was like should I or shouldn’t I continue around?! Sort of an uneasy feeling, going beyond what you had game planned in advance. I didn't want to get back too late either, but on the other hand was exploring new territory which I love. A nature conundrum lol. Finally when I encountered that wild ornery deer, that was my signal to call it quits and plan to do it next time around. Thanks for stopping by.

Beautiful nature photography! The landscapes around Bertha Lake look amazing, and I really enjoyed your story about the unexpected encounter with the deer. Sometimes the best adventures are the ones that don't go exactly as planned!

I also shoot with a Sony camera (Sony ZV-E10 II), so it’s especially interesting for me to see what other Sony photographers create. Great work, and thanks for sharing these beautiful moments!

Thank you. I'm not familiar with your Sony, but am now curious. How long have you been shooting with it?

I bought it 7 months ago—mostly for video, and also for photos—and I’ve been happy with it.

Is it a full frame?

No, crop frame..

So beautiful, I see why you wanted to keep on going. I've been on hikes when I hit a point that I've gotten the uneasy feeling not to continue. I turned around just as a pair of women passed me. A few minutes later I hear screams, and they came running back down. They nearly stepped on a rattlesnake, so listening to those gut feeling is always smart is what I learned! lol

Those deer can be mean, best to keep your distance. When I was a kid a neighbor had a big buck chase his back in his house! lol

Great job on the those shots, what a great hike!

It just felt like it was time to turnaround, so I did. Next time I will definitely go all the way around, but will need to start earlier for sure. Thanks for stopping by.

Such breathtaking nature shots and a wonderful hiking story! Both the color and black-and-white versions look stunning. Thanks for sharing this amazing adventure!

Sure, glad you came along for the ride.

The lake is wonderful, but the idea of encountering a deer is both exciting and a bit terrifying

I wasn't going to stick around for a better photo of that deer, as he was giving off angry vibes. Wish I could of though.

I usually prefer color for nature shots, but that black and white version of the deer looks like a scene from an old movie. The contrast on the trail really stands out too.

Generally I do too, but the black and whites just gives us a different version/perspective. Which I find fascinating.

Great to see a sign of animals like Deers, they're very graceful animals, what I would want to see on such a beautiful hike are bears though. It means there are wonderful food sources in the area as well. Great shots too

Would have been nice to see a few bears on the other side of the lake!! With a nice comfortable distance between us.

What a wonderful adventure in the heart of nature! 😍 Even when plans change, discovering new places is often the most delightful part of traveling.

Always fun to discover new things, as long as you have a backup plan.

This is pure beauty

Thanks.

Usually the deer are friendly, except this one.
