This photo seemed merely "good" to me when I saw it in color, but when I saw it in black and white, it made me applaud. Because when the colors disappeared, the entire visual rhythm and structure of the elements were revealed, as well as your excellent compositional decision with that vanishing point on the left bank and riverbed, and that challenging placement of the horizon just a touch higher than the center of the image. So, this is one of those photos where the monochromatic scheme transforms everything, turning a "good photo" into one worthy of "standing up and applauding"...
