Treehouse

DSC09142.jpeg

When you were a kid, back in the day, did you ever have a backyard treehouse? Or maybe a friend had one or there was something similar at the local park. Those were the good ol days right?! Anyways, we had a little fun here at Cathedral Grove playing “treehouse”. This Douglas fir holds a small family inside of it! And its not even one of the biggest there! If you are looking for great family fun and an easy nature walk, come to the Cathedral forest on Vancouver Island, it wont dissapoint. Thanks for stopping by.

Some of those big trees leave nice hollows like that, animals must live those to take shelter from the rain. As did our ancestors as well I'm sure! It's a very cool feeling to be among a grove of such huge trees, it puts your place in the universe into more clarity, that much is for sure.

How was the trip to Banff yesterday? Any nice adventures to be found?

Still in Banff, weather is kind of cool and windy...today is looking up though! Off we go now...

When I was a kid. I go to a local park and there were three trees that I never went to because they looked like the same tree and I was afraid someone lived there😂😂That's why I never went there

Nowadays, people likely do live in trees, at least temporarily. Sad but true.

Yes, I have seen those who live in trees

Oh I remember at the playground there were trees we used to climb on, it was like a "base" good times indeed

Now with a person inside now you see how big it is!

Those were the pre-internet days, at least for some of us. Good times.

Haha yea the word internet had no meaning, that was good times indeed, I remember them with pleasure

I never had a cottage like this in my area, but every year my friends and I would build huts out of coniferous branches, ferns, and stones, spending long hours there every summer day. Those were the days and such a beautiful connection with nature!

Having a treehouse is part of a exciting childhood, or fort, anything kids can play inside of. Thanks for looking.

The tree house in your picture reminds me of my childhood. I once saw a tree with a hole like that in a cemetery. When I passed by and saw the tree, I got goosebumps. Now the tree is gone, it's fallen and rotting.

That is unusual. I only remember the fun times.

Looks really huge and carved inside, must've taken a long time to get built. I've only read of such legends and haven't experienced such yet. I was born late lol.

Of course it probably would depend where you lived growing up. Thanks.

Yeah!... Sendig a big "WOW" foir this shot @daveks friend!!!
