Living in the UK can cause issues with the kind of photography I love to do, whether it be aerial photography, it's usually windy, rainy or bad weather in general, and the same when it comes to my astrophotography, plus I need to also take in light pollution and the moon depending on what shots I want to get.
Anyhow, we'd had a bit of bad weather as usual and as it started to change (just before the heatwave), I got the drone up for some lovely aerial landscape photography.
If you look at the first image on this post, you can see three dams stretching all the way up to Wentworth, if you zoom in you can also see Wentworth House, this has been used on numerous films and was once home to a UK prime minister (going back a couple of hundred years).
I'm not sure why these dams were built though, I think it was something to do with the old Greasbrough canal that ran down to Parkgate, the canal no longer exists now.
Just up from the dams is Hoober Stand, this was built to commemorate the quashing of the Jacobite Rebellion way back in 1745. The monument stands around 30 metres, you can go up to the top of the monument on Sundays in the summer months for a small fee.
As I was testing out the DJI Mini 5 Pro drone, I'm still not convinced that the camera is any better than the DJI Mini 4 Pro, it's not a massive upgrade if you do get one, the zoom is a good thing where it doesn't lose quality, especially on video, and it is a bit better in low light too. I do like the pictures though so I can't fault that lol.
