As I go through all my old photos from the Civil War trip, I am just reminded at how much I loved shooting portraits for documentary purposes. I was not a huge fan of doing family portraits or any of that, but I love shooting documentary style photography and I am hoping to be able to travel and go do more of this type of shooting.
Last year, I shot photos for the Fire Fighter challenge that was held here in Salt Lake City. This year it is going to be a fire fighter challenge where fire fighters from all over the world come and compete, and I was hired by the company holding the competition to document it this year. It is going to be a much larger scale and probably cover 3-4 days, so I should get some pretty cool shots during that.
I am going to have to find my hard drive with all my photos from Tanzania because I had like 30,0000 photos on that and only shared a small fraction of photos from that. It was mainly pictures from my safari that I shared, so it will be cool to share a lot more of the portraits I took.
I hope that you enjoy these photos. It has been fun going through and editing everything again.

My word, your portrait game is 🔥.
Love the framing, lighting and subject separation.
I'm also a fan of that sepia-type monochrome edit. Very rustic and tasteful.
Thanks man. I appreciate it. I had an awesome time at this event capturing these.
Fantastic shots. They feel 100 years old.
Thanks. I was hoping they looked like a piece of history.
Great captures… they do speak so much!
Yes, you should do more portraits but in this style… documentary.
Thanks for sharing. Have a great weekend.
Thanks. I hope that I can get out and do more documentary shots.
