I am a lover of the older angels and statues. The new ones don't have that same warm feeling, although I know that sounds weird. It is an angel, right? Actually, the newer ones are nice, but, they don't make the old ones anymore and I just feel like death was more dignified, or held in a different light long ago. People were revered, which I know I have said before. Perhaps that is what makes me lean toward that way.
I did like the first angel, and I have to tell you when I looked at it the first time, I thought it said HELLO! Not Mello... I was wondering what kind of message that was trying to send me. LOL
The mono is such a perfect way to pick up the tone of the cemetery, with subtle shades of peace.

I am the same, and for me the older ones have more style and dare I say class, I do feel the older ones are more Solemn, and not in a dark way if that makes sense, but are as you say more dignified and respectful to those who have passed

Yes!!!!! It looked exactly like an elf!! I have to wonder if it was supposed to be? I hope not, that would be pretty weird, and yet. It really does.
Maybe an elf has some special significance to the person buried there, but I guess we will never know
I was thinking the same thing, wondering if it was child?
