Angels At The Gallery

Last week I had part of a unique experience and a premiere as well in this regard as it's never happened to me before. Last week was the time to visit two new exhibitions, which most likely seems strange to many, especially those who have never visited an exhibition in their life. I have a schedule as each exhibition room has their own schedule and you need to keep it in mind if you don't want to miss the occasion to see some amazing artworks.

Angels At The Gallery.jpg

Last week, as I was passing by the gallery's window, saw a couple of artworks and knew I'm going to have part of an amazing experience. I recognized two of the paintings and was trying to remember where and when I saw them. Where, that was easier to recall, but when ... I couldn't remember, but the date wasn't important anyway, the exhibition was.

Why was this more special than others? Because during my visit, I had the pleasure to have a nice chat with the artist's wife and learn more about the artworks and the idea behind them. It was a unique occasion as I said, as I could ask her anything I wanted and get an answer to all of my questions. Even if you go to openings, you can't get the source of information to yourself as the crowd is demanding and time is limited, so I feel special in this regard.

The feeling I left the exhibition with was amazing, but in the same time I got the confirmation, that no way on earth you can figure out on your own, what the artist meant. Never in a million years, but maybe that's not necessarily a bad thing as you can form your own ideas and see each artwork as you want.

The artist was Levente Csatlós, who's taking you to an unknown world for many, a better world if you like. I'm going to try to explain the paintings better this time.

Windows Towards Sunrise 1 - mixed technique/wood/cooper

Windows Towards Sunrise 2 - mixed technique/wood/cooper

I should have photographed these two together, but I only found out what they mean after. These windows are against the wall and basically you can only see the wall through the windows, but you can see much more if you have an open mind. Basically it symbolizes your ability to be open and get through the blockages. I can relate to this as so many time we get scared of the first obstacle and instead of trying to find solutions and possibilities, we only see the obstacle. So many give up at the first hardship the occurs.

Music For The Heaven 2 - 120x100cm, mixed technique, canvas (2025)

It's a nice and meaningful two piece composition and without some explanation, you would never guess what it means. On the left, there's a man with a trumpet (I hope it is a trumpet) and a big ear. On the right there's a woman with a harp. The main concept here I think it is that they both (the couple) have to listen to each other, otherwise they are just two people speaking, or playing music.

I love the colors here and how the two humans are painted. It's kind of abstract to a certain point and it's perfect.

Celestial Porthole - 70 cm, mixed technique/wood (2025)

What do you see first, when you look at this artwork? I notice the eyes. Those clear, blue eyes. This means we should not be afraid to look people in the eye as they say the eyes are the mirror of the soul. So many time people avoid eye contact for different reasons. I love the concept and how the wood is combined with the painting.

Admiration In The Orchard - 180x90cm, mixed technique/canvas (2025)

I was standing in front of this painting, trying to figure out what's the secret of it, or the message I can't see. All I saw was the obvious. So here it is. There's a boy who has some wings, made of big leaves and as you can see, the leaf's vein are his vein. He's looking at the cherries and he's capable of looking at the fruits with admiration. It's a rough representation, as you can see, the face is featureless, you can only see the eyes and the yellow must be his hair. Look at his heart.

As the data was available, I gave you the measurement of the artwork, but here you can see that those were not small by any standards.

The Giver - 20x45cm, wood/copper/lavender (2022)

This is a really nice one. You see the angel with a bag of lavender on her back. Lavender symbolizes calmness ans peace and she is giving away the lavender, one by one, spreading peace and calmness. You can see how the print of the wood was highlighted and also the imperfection at the sides was left there. Life is not perfect either.

Angel In Red - 30x40cm, mixed technique/carton (2025)

Speaking of imperfection. Angels are young and beautiful, yet here you have a granny angel here. Basically it doesn't matter the look, what matters is the kindness, the willingness to give and grandmothers usually have these abilities.

This was the title of the exhibition.

Most likely I've never been given so many details about artworks in my post as mostly shared my view and understanding of the exhibition. Today you have a bit more as I was fortunate enough to get the info. Now let's see if you see the story in the artworks, or you see something else. Let me know in a comment.

The window is absolutely magical.

I really liked the meaning of the windows, which I agree with you about. And it's great that you got to talk to the artist's wife. It's not always possible to learn all these details you bring us first-hand... like the lavender... I didn't know that!

I looked and looked at the works and these two are my favourites, and when I saw the size comparison with the others, I couldn't believe how big they are... music for heaven or music from heaven for us, that's what it made me think.

I was quite lucky as now I see everything in a different light.

You picked two nice ones, I like both the meaning and the paintings here.

Yes, they were quite big and definitely not for a flat, especially if you want both on your wall.

I would need to have one on every wall... facing each other because otherwise I wouldn't have enough space, but they are beautiful!

Hmm those are not really my genre 😅

Celestial Porthole : I also notice the white beard he has really a lot of it!

The Giver is my favorite if I had to pick one, if I didn't know it was an angel, I would say it represents a normal woman and the title "giver" is because she gives life giving birth to kids

He's a sailor, what you expect? They don't shave every day like a for Hugo Boss commercial 😆

That too, if you like, it's not excluded. After all, you interpret art as you like 🙂

The arts are mystical. Felt a different aura with those musical imprint with lady. Beautiful.

Que buen arte acompañado de una excelente crítica. Muy buen post
