It's been ages since my last cocktail time, as I've been posting about all kinds of topics lately. It's not a complain as change and variety is always good, I could not post about the same things for long, but time is of the essence in a certain way.

The truth is, I've been away for almost 10 days and have missed a set of exhibitions I believe, so tomorrow most likely I'm going to pay a visit to my favorite galleries, to see what's new and learn about what I have missed. Till then, I still have a lot of photos that have not been posted yet, so I thought I'd select a few and make a cocktail, to make it more interesting.

Let's start with a painting of Simion Moldovan, a very talented artist I had the chance to meet in person this year in March. The artist has a very particular style and most of his paintings put you to the test, making you look at them and wonder what the artist was thinking. Will you ever be able to figure out what he meant? Highly doubt it, but it's a fun game and a practice too as you need to examine each canvas and see all the details, then put together what you see.

In my previous paragraph, I avoided the word painter and called Simion Moldovan an artist, because he's not just a painter.

The sculpture above is his creation as well and it is a very interesting one, out of the ordinary I'd say, by any standards. There was no title listed to any of the artworks and now I regret not asking him about the thoughts behind this head with so many eyes, but I bet each of us can find an explanation, or a story about this unusual head. It may look strange, but it takes a lot of talent and a wealthy imagination to create such artwork.

Petre Caprita - The Eternal Gate
For me this is an artwork with religious meaning, but not as much as for those who believe in afterlife. I don't believe in afterlife, for me life is ending when you close your eyes for the last time, so I am looking at it exclusively from artistic point of view. Now, I understand the gate, but don't understand the numbers, or the crack on top ...

Abigél Nagy - Harmony Statues - Dance
Trust me when I say that this type of sculpture is not very common. I wish I knew how it's done as it's enamelled, but I love the smooth surface and the round shapes.

Sunday Program
I'm not sure what this means exactly, but I love this type or paintings, that are made of several pieces, or divided. This is an interesting watercolor.

These were the work of two artists. The bigger, wooden sculpture was made by Anita Hinch and it is called Tulip. The three pots were made by Abigél Nagy and are called Destruction.
The tulip is an interesting one, especially because of the color of the wood and also because you can see the texture, or the rings of the wood.
The other ones are also interesting, especially when you know the name of the "artworks". You can see the destruction on them.

Ede Tordai - Print
We're changing style here.

Martinas Cristian - Hill of Lövéte
This is an epic photo, no matter how you look at it. The rule of third, the framing, the fog and those bushes and trees in the back, just perfect.
This is the cocktail for today. I hope you have a favorite and I'd love to read your opinion and know which one you like. Let me know in a comment :)

This so atmospheric and has a claustophobic kind of depth to it. I have tried to capture this effect with mist and fog so many times but alas, it looks like garbage, some can, some cannot but some can learn, so there is hope everlasting, perhaps?
The eternal gate is indeed, intriguing! I too think first of all that I would love the know the etymology, however, sometimes I prefer to impart my own idea, there are times when learning the artists vision has caused me disappointment. Maybe that is arrogant of me, I'm not sure, after all it is their creation but then the old adage of 'the eye of the beholder' still holds true.
The bowls tell us exactly, or almost exactly the concept behind them, although there is room for nuanced interpretation still, I would buy and own them or the mysterious head for display, if I was not a penniless, word-filled fool 😁
If the shiny enamel piece was not titled dance (or partly) I could easily have interpreted love or interestingly conflict, that's the subjective nature of work from creatives.
Thank you, life is always made better by a cocktail 🖼🎨🍸
Enjoy the downhill slope to the weekend, that is the remainder of the week 😎🤍🌻
Capturing mist has been on my list for ages, but I guess I have to move to a different country as we only have mist once per year, for one or two days, in the morning and evening and never dense enough to get some decent photos. Since I've been on Hive there were two times, when I could take some photos of mist and only one photo shoot was ok by my standards, so I understand your pain :)
I'm with you on that, after learning the truth from the artist, comes disappointment, almost always.
You're a funny person and your comment made me laugh 😂
Thanks and have a nice day 🥂
Different works, each with its own unique characteristics. That first painting, which had an expressive atmosphere, reminded me of the works of painter Francis Bacon. Of course, the figure could have been in the middle of the frame. The sculpture also has the same expressive atmosphere, and on the cube covered with musical notes, it has given it a more emotional atmosphere. The arrangement of the jars also seems to be a good arrangement. The last photo seemed the most mysterious of all, which I think showed the end of a cemetery. With its foggy atmosphere, it has a noble purpose for me. Thank you for sharing these works and I look forward to your next photos. It is not surprising that a painter also does sculpture. Although I am a senior graduate in painting, I got first place in the sculpture exam. By the way, I wrote these directly myself and did not use any artificial intelligence for editing. 🤣I love reviewing works of art and do not get tired if I write about them for several days in a row.🙏
See? You can comment without AI and it is highly appreciated. This is not an academic platform, no one is expecting perfect language, so why not practice by using your own words, right?
I'm glad you liked the artworks. For you, as an artist, it's different, and I am glad I can bring you art from the other part of the world. I'm a regular in galleries, so there's more to come :)
Thank you, I have added you to my favorites list and I look forward to your good pictures from art galleries. I wish you all the best.
Thank you, I wish you the same. Have a nice day!
One piece is more interesting than the other, especially the head with several eyes… perhaps it’s because we can see different points of view.
I find the door interesting, as I do believe in life after death, though not in a religious sense; I like the symbols above the door.
The last photo… magnificent!! Perfect for a mystery story!
Or maybe because we have to have eyes everywhere, because of the fast paced life? 😃 who knows?
Yes, the door must have a different meaning, if you believe in life after death.
I agree with you on that. It can very well be the cover of a book as well, or on a T-shirt.
A cover… for a horror or mystery book! Artists always come up with ideas.
The one that comes to mind is the Simion Moldovan sculpture with all the eyes. It's more than a painting, you're right. The artist clearly wanted to evoke a reaction, and the lack of titles forces you to make your own narrative. That’s powerful.
Though Martinas Cristian’s “Hill of Lövéte” is technically perfect. The fog, the framing, the rule of thirds, textbook perfect. I love how this cocktail mixes the abstract/interpretive with the purely photographic. It keeps it interesting.
Also, 10 days away is no excuse to not post, but this format of a cocktail is a great way to bridge the gap. Looking forward to the write up about the gallery visit tomorrow.
Looks like AI written. Better not comment if you can't write your own.
Good point, I did have an assistant help me draft that. But my real feeling is that the Moldovan's multi-eyed sculpture is the highlight of the post. The absence of a title is a way of making you invent your own story, and that is exactly what good art should do. Hope u
You better not comment if you can't write your own comments. No one is forcing you.
Got it. No hard feelings have a good day.
No hard feelings? You kidding me? You're abusing hive and you are telling me no hard feelings? On what planet are you living?
Lovely photos The art exhibition looks very interesting.Where were these taken.Welcome back🍸
I'm glad you liked. It is a selection from a number of exhibitions.
Dear friend, the images, paintings, and sculptures are truly beautiful، it’s clear that a thousand meanings lie within every work of art. Especially that sculpture, which seems to say that in certain moments or perhaps in this passing era two eyes are not enough to see and move through life. Art is sometimes a third eye of understanding; a window for perceiving what ordinary sight overlooks.💜🌹💜🌹💜🌹💜
There's always room for interpretation and we each see different things, which is why art is a lot of fun.
Be successe...
This makes no sense to me, but thanks for stopping by.
Sooo delicious🤤
