The exhibitions I visited last week were not just amazing, but inspiring as well. Each painting has something unique and some are motivating me to create something, something that I would call my art, even if it would not be considered art by the usual standards.

Today I'd like to show you the rest of the photos I took at the solo exhibition of Krisztina Molnár, called The Texture of Memory. Her talent and art is complex, you could see a great variety of artworks from illustrations based on poems, to paintings, collages, stencil works and not only.

Lace 1 (poem illustration)
When I first saw this work, knew right away that it would be good for a story book for kids and was right. There was no information available about what storybook or story it's been created for, but it doesn't matter. What was interesting here was, that at first I thought that's real lace, but in fact it was a photo of lace.
In the ditch you can see the devil or maybe two devils, a princess, maybe hiding? It's a good guessing game, although I'm afraid we won't know the right answer.

Lace 2 (poem illustration)
A similar drawing, with lace symbolizing the sun I believe and some hills maybe.
Seeing these poem illustrations made me think that I've not seen many illustrations for kids. There are so many illustrators working on illustrations for kids, but you don't see them at exhibitions. Too bad. I'd be interested in such an exhibition.
Another interesting detail to note here is the frame. Look at the texture of it. I love that both frames are wide, white and not plain and simple. It gives an extra boost to the drawings.

Mandala
We're changing style here. This is a mandala, a very unusual one. I'm not going to lie, those planes and the red color give me a very bad feeling, especially now that the was is so close to our border. It is interesting, but not my favorite mandala.

Autumn Mood (poem illustration)
A little bit of everything autumn means, compressed in this painting. It may look a bit messy, but it's a very good reminder of what autumn means. Those people with umbrellas are so cute, what a good idea. Now I really want to read that poem, to see if all these things are protagonists in it :)

Shared Yard
This painting or graphics not just looks messy, it is indeed messy, but I like the part in the upper right corner. I love how the drawing is highlighted mostly by a single color.

Winter Memory
We're changing style again, and switching to paintings, a pretty minimalist this time.

Spring Memory
Up until I saw this painting, only suspected that some of the previous ones were not just paintings and this was where I realized it is painted over a printed photo. To understand what I mean, the center of the photo with the two girls playing is a photo. The grass, the sky and a part of the rooftop is a mix of reality and paint. I've never seen anything like this before and maybe I'm not going to see similar work in the future either, but it was good to see what is possible today. With photos printed on canvas, you can do anything these days.

Ice Flower
Some of you mentioned last time that you don't like this type of art, but this Ice Flower is fantastic in my eyes. As I see it, there's a portrait photo, the base and the ice flower is painted over. What is interesting here is that the ice flower is not like you see in real life, it is made of all kind of shapes, which makes it even more interesting.
Night
Probably I would not want it on my wall, but I like it a lot. Looks like colored chalk on a black surface, covered in a light mist.
This is it for today. Let me know what you think and if you have a favorite :)

What beautiful works you bring us... the first ones are ideal for children's stories without a doubt and they are original and beautiful.
Autumn is enigmatic and that's why I love this fabulous work which as you mention seems messy but it is and in the chaos there is beauty.
Now I ask you, do you see the face in this work? It is my favourite, both for what you have said and for the colours and what is hidden. Thank you!
Yup. I just said it in my post ☝️
That's why it is so interesting as it's not just the ice flower, it's the portrait behind it as well.
I wonder what paint did she use to let the face still be visible to some extent. It's a brilliant work.
I was delighted to see it at a glance, and the shape. Then I read it and I said... what a genius! It's not easy that technique. Not easy at all.
I suppose it's not easy as you have to mix the right paint, to be transparent enough and still be able to leave a mark. I've never seen anything like this before.
Neither do I but it reminds me of so many things in nature where it looks like there are human faces as if something or someone has put them there. How interesting!
It is indeed 🙂
😘
I am with you on the "Ice Flower." The geometric shapes instead of organic petals make it feel much more modern and interesting.
I'm glad the "Lace" wasn't real. I'm thinking about how long it would take to dust that frame if it was real, lol.
You're laughing but I've seen several works with real lace added, so it's not a joke.
