Textile & Fiber

in Photography Lovers7 hours ago

Six days ago I posted the first part about my experience at the annual textile and fiber exhibition called Ariadnae and today I'd like to show you more of these beauties, if you're interested in this kind of art.

For me, this is a very special event and always make sure to attend as it's the biggest of its kind and it motivates me as well. It is an occasion to see what like minded people can create, not that I consider myself an artist of any kind, but it's the closest type of art and can imagine myself creating some things, but till then, let's see what the artists put together for this year's edition.

Bianca Cigher Fernea - Encounters On The Roads Of Life I., II., III.

I would call it abstract, but I also agree with the title, it describes what life is perfectly.

Gyöngyvér Kiss - Untitled Miniatures

This is definitely not my kind of art, but I like how the artist chose the frames and the background for the artworks.

Mária Hunyadi - Orchid

Now this is where things started to get interesting for me. This is a work made with lace and golden foil and what struck me was the colors used in it. The copper red hair matches the gold aspect and the wonderful frame perfectly. The pattern is lovely as well.

I believe this was custom made and to create such a pattern, you need to design it first, which requires some skills.

Adriana Alexandra Dobra - Astral Context

For me, this artwork is interesting more from creating perspective. The meaning is not so important, but I'm looking at how it was made. Seems easy, but requires some planning, if you want all the lines in place. It's a very well executed piece and the colors are well selected as well.

Mihaela - Daniela Stancioiu - Folia

It's an interesting creation, but not really my cup of tea.

Zita Kolumbán Kántor - Jacob's Ladder

This is a very interesting one, containing two pieces: the background and the so called ladder, which is a series of pieces with flower print lace. If you look at the background, you can see some silhouettes with wings, maybe angels. What I like about this artwork is the delicacy of it.

Zsuzsanna Nagy - Time Line

This was one of the winners for me. Obviously first you notice forms and colors and after your brain processes what you see, you try to think further and try to understand what it is.

The base is fleece and was painted on and the extension on the sides are different color of yarns. Now take a step back, look at it as a whole and tell me what you see.

For me it symbolizes how earth, the moon and the sun. The bottom one is the night with the moon, then the sun rises and the word passes from being black or dark to being colorful. The top one is the golden hour if I can use this term I hate so much, the sunset, when the setting sun is painting everything in red. Maybe this is not what the artist meant, but that's what I see here. It is a brilliant work and I love it!

Mira Marincas - Mapi...

I guess this is the riddle of the day for you. The title is not visible as part is hidden behind the frame and honestly, I can't really figure out what it is. So you tell me.

Gabriella Fábián - Night Blooming

This is it for today, I hope you have a favorite and could show you something you've never seen before. Let me know in a comment :)

I'll tell you one thing... what perfection and finesse, I couldn't stop looking at the pattern and the texture!

Jacob's Ladder is spectacular, especially because of the silhouettes in the background. And then that piece with such striking colours... I'm fascinated by the colours and the energy they convey. Those three pieces... they're fabulous!💗
