"Absorbing the Pollen" - A Series of Flower Photographs

1.JPG

___

i am drowning myself
in an ocean of flowers
returning to
a primordial home
where i can lay my soul
to rest in the pollen
of mother earth's embrace

At certain times of the day, especially early in the morning just when the sun has risen, the flowers are dancing in their most beautiful of dresses.

The rays of the sun perfectly fall onto the colorful flower petals and they dance before my eyes like no other time of the day.

I wonder to myself, how beautiful are they in these dresses, with the sun shining perfectly on their every corner.

I am merely the spectator, privileged enough so that I may cast my gaze, my eyes, on these beautiful and private moments.

For are these moments not the purview, the privilege, the horizon, of the animals that pollinate and consume these beauties first thing in the morning?

I was lucky enough to intrude on this private moment, and here I can share it with you in all of its seductive beauty, in all of its splendour.

Please do enjoy this moment with me, as nature is fleeting and tomorrow we might not be able to witness her beauty. We might see another side of her, another dress, as she perpetually changes her appearance without telling us about it.

Postscriptum, or so the dance ends

In the end, every dance needs to end. She undresses for the evening, when she closes her palms for the night's delights to come; when the moon will only glance under the shining of the stars.

The morning dance ends, and even the chatting birds and wonderful sounds of every bird shouting at their luck, will for the night go to sleep, only to restart in the early morning, when no one is watching.

I hope that you enjoyed the dancing flowers with me, as we are nearing the end of another beautiful spring; the summer heat is already in the air.

For now, happy photographing, and keep well.

All of the musings are my own, albeit inspired by the many different flowers that expose their beauty to me. All of the photographs are my own, taken with my Nikon D300 and 50mm Nikkor lens.
