Exciting Attraction To See Around Amersfoort Centraal Station | Walking Distance | Aspiring Photographer | Netherlands

in Photography Lovers2 years ago (edited)

As someone who appreciates venturing beyond their comfort zone, especially while traveling to new areas whether it is local or international, the majority of the people, in my opinion, take the time to do some research on what a specific location has to contribute. We, as content creators, are keen to find out varieties of attractions around.

To do this, we typically interact with our friends, ask for guidance, or surf online for recommendations on what things to do and what unique features a certain location can provide.

In that way, we can write about something, share our experiences, plus feel positive about ourselves, and make our day productive.

Sweet Escape in the Medieval City

Mostly in the central part of the city, you can truly enjoy walking distance it is more advantageous if you have more time.

There are also some cases where we go to the location on the spot without knowing what is the name of the place we haven’t planned to photograph, thus, we end up on the Google Image Page to broaden our horizon and find out what and where it is as part of our learning encounters. We then discover interesting aspects and publish tons of details about them.

I do adore walking in the city center, interacting with the locals, and capturing some snaps that astonished me are my favorite highlights. Going to places on a budget is always a wise idea. Taking a breather out of the box is challenging and always keeps my adrenaline going Ahah 😂

The first place I have in mind is going directly to Koppelpoort, renowned as Amersfoort’s impressive well-preserved gate from the Middle Ages. The water and the city gate make up its structure. My initial impression browsing photos online is that it resembles a castle which I find elegant and appealing.

From the Amersfoort Centraal Station to Koppelpoort, it would take a 14-minute walk to get there.

It is simply stunning and captivating! Knowing about its history, the walls are kept to prevent armies from entering the city in the early 1400s.

The summer is the ideal season to see tons of boats since you can compare various styles Dutch people use, who enjoy boating as one of their ultimate hobbies.

Amersfoort Centraal is not a particularly bustling or large city in the Netherlands, however, if you are in a go to hop in something new, then it is pleasant to linger around and spend a good hour wandering through Koppelpoort, admiring the sights, appreciating the old and modern architectures, grabbing a beverage on one of their terraces and eat something that appetizes you.

The view behind the Koppelpoort

Stumbled outside this attractive exterior named Museum Flehite, I am not the biggest fan of visiting the museum, however, if yoU are keen on knowing further, it highlights the history of Amersfoort, and varieties of local exhibits, paintings, and modern art.

For tickets and events, visit their website at Museumflehite.nl.

St Pieters and Blocklands Gasthuis

I haven't thought that this fantastic house is a residence for the elderly who are suffering from dementia. It used to be a nursing home exclusively for men in the past. It is a well-preserved house with a unique and sophisticated exterior.

De Bolle Brug

This building is designed by a Belgian well-known architect Jo Crepain. The apartment is a component of the modest "De Bolle Brug" construction which was built in 1995 and comprises 10 homes and 10 flats. The two imposing apartment buildings serve as "The City Center's Gate".

In a nutshell, this area is a great location easily accessible to all conveniences with maximum living comfort.

This sums up the short walking distance around Amersfoort Centraal together with my daughter and close friend.

It took me an hour to take some snaps and unwind the surrounding areas. Undoubtedly, Amersfoort has a lot to offer in terms of its history, sightseeing destination, museums, entertainment venues and more. I will definitely come back again and check out new amazing spots around.
