One of my favorite things about coastal redwood forests is the fog. They only grow in areas with a lot of fog, so they go hand in hand. Even in the middle of the summer after weeks without rain, the forest will be wet from fog captured high up in the canopy and falling down, creating it's own rain for the forest below. I am blessed to be surrounded by redwood forests in this part of the world. I spent last summer living in San Francisco and took a bunch of hikes deep into the forests of nearby Mt. Tamalpais. Here are some of my favorite photos from those hikes.

Now I want to go back to the Redwood forest. It was so awesome visiting there a few years ago. It is like an alien land.
