Today it is different

This morning the weather was gorgeous, so we decided to go for a long walk by the sea. The location you see is Nafplio, one of the most beautiful Greek towns. I have been here a lot of times and I have written about it, more than once. But today it is different, much different!

As of yesterday I am here as a permanent resident and not a visitor! That is also the reason why I neglected my blog the last couple of weeks. Moving can be hard on its own but when you have to go from a remote village on an island to a small town of the mainland, it can be quite more complicated!

Today it was the first morning of a brand new chapter in our common life, so @traisto and myself decided to only do enjoyable things all day long, especially since we have a ton of work waiting for us from tomorrow morning and for many weeks! Of course the work that we have to do is enjoyable too. After two weeks of deconstructing our previous life (figuratively and literally) we are now entering the creative phase of creating a new life for ourselves :)

I will probably tell you more about our plans in future posts but for now I just wanted to share the news and catch up with you guys. Plus that I just finish setting up my Mac and I was dying to use it :)

As I was editing the pictures I noticed how many times I used the human element in my shots. I guess it something I was missing till now as I was living in a place that I was barely seeing any people in my daily routine :)

But this is changing now!

And since it is Sunday, this is my contribution to #SublimeSunday inspired by @c0ff33a and #BeautifulSunday initiated by @ace108.

Have a great week!

I still can't get over my amazement.

First and foremost I wish you that the new chapter of your life will be a good one, as you wish and as you are probably preparing for it!

Such a great surprise, @fotostef, and @traisto!

Now I can say this without fear of it being inappropriate... I've always wondered why you chose to live in such an austere place when your country is so rich in amazingly beautiful places.
Of course, the causes were multiple and only known to you.

May all the best in the world be in your new home, in your new place of life!

Thank you so much dear @bluemoon for your wishes!

Laughed so much reading this!!! And it is partly true :) The human soul is an abyss they say, hahaha! Truth is that it was beautifully there too as well as where we moved to. When we were in Crete and they asked me where I am from, they were surprised that I left Nafplio for Crete. These days that we are in Nafplio everyone asks why I left Crete to come to Nafplio :) What to say, I guess we are lucky that we can move from one beautiful place to another beautiful place. Hopefully things will be a bit easier here :)

I knew it was only partially true.
Yes, you are lucky to be able to relocate, to make such a big change in your life. I am a person who gets attached to people, places, and things. I'm glad you're not like that because it's so much better and easier. I wish you all the best for this change.
In Stefanos's post, there is a photo that I really like... you are with your back to the camera, looking at the sea and Markos is looking at the camera. It looks like you are looking towards the future life and Markos, looking regretfully after the island life. Is that so?

Mixed feelings is the best way to describe how it feels. Nostalgic for leaving back such a beautiful (but difficult) place and really happy to be here now. And stressed and excited, all together, a mix, changes like this are never easy. But really proud of ourselves for doing it! We are keeping the olive groves there though so we'll be there for a few months at least twice every year. Maybe as a transition to make it easier or maybe for longer, who knows :)

Markos is more excited than all of us! There are so many dogs and smells :))

And you know that there is no need for a boat to come here, right? Ok, it's a long drive, but still way easier :)

I understand your feelings well, it's normal to be so.
For me it remains a surprise, nothing lets see your desire for change, or maybe I didn't see it, reading maybe superficially and not all of your posts. I'm so glad you chose this option, and even better now, that you'll sit in both places.

Oh, how nice! That looks like an invitation, thank you!
Now I can show you how unlucky I can be. The other day I had my heart checked and I'm in big trouble. The doctor forbade me to drive a car... I have to go to another specialist doctor who did an operation on my heart a year ago, maybe he will put in a pacemaker, maybe another operation similar to the one last year (I wouldn't want to, because it was very painful and, I think, ineffective...). I'll see, but for now, my travels seem blocked.

Did you go to the doctor @bluemoon? I really really hope that everything will is fine!!!

Yes, I'll go. I'm getting the necessary tests. Thank you so much for the hope you give me!

Haha, I wouldn't worry about Marcos, he is the most adaptive from the 3 of us :)

You are right and more than that, he is happy to be with you no matter where.

Such cool shots. The weather there looks perfect

It is indeed!
Thank you for stopping by, @derangedvisions :)

excellent photos. With a sunny climate, it always feels good to go for a walk.

Thanks a lot!
Lovely weather for walking indeed :)

We also had beautiful weather today in Spain, so warm for this early spring.

Congratulations of becoming a permanent resident 🌟🌟🌟 Moving is never easy, as you say, but they are steps in our lives ;)

Sending greetings to your lady 😉🍀

Thank you very much @mipiano from both of us :)
Moving was a big decision but we are pretty sure that we needed the change!

I just LOVE Greece and this place looks amazing!

It is one of the Greek gems indeed!
I hope you'll have the chance to visit it yourself :)

Last summer I and my husband went to Lefkada, and we also managed to visit Porto Katsiki. And we fell in love with Greece!
I have checked that location and it's a bit further since we travel by car from Bulgaria but it is doable with a stop.
This summer we have promised ourselves to bring the baby on a vacation and to show him Greece. He is going to be just a couple of months old but we believe it is a good start for our little adventurer! =)))

Yes, of course it is doable! I am thinking myself of the opposite trip. From Greece for a tour of the Balkans!

Congratulations. I guess you are finding you like what you see there to make it permanent.

Thank you very much @ace108 :)
Yes, I think it is just what we need at this stage of our lives!

You're welcome.
