Exploring Las Vegas

A visit to the city of Las Vegas was unexpected one and I didn't plan to go there when I booked a trip to Colorado. I have to admit that I was a bit drunk when I bought the tickets to Colorado to see the Illenium trilogy show. I only realized a day later after buying lights, that the layover through Las Vegas was 20 hours when we were going back to Europe 😂. At first, I thought that I fucked up because I was unable to change the flights. Then I decided to make this work and thought that this would be a great opportunity to also see Las Vegas and stay the night there.

I don't think there is anyone who does not know what place Las Vegas is, so I don't need to introduce it a lot. It's only one of the most famous cities in the world that you have seen in a lot of movies. A city in the middle of the desert, in Nevada. We only had about 17 hours to really stay in the city so we made the time count. We arrived there at about 8 in the evening and went straight into the most famous area. The Las Vegas Strip.

It was extremely hot outside. We were there in the mid-summer last year and the heat is unforgiving. The moment we stepped out of the airport, it felt like stepping into the furnace. Even though it was dark outside and the sun was gone, it was still +33C outside (91.4F).

We Checked into our hotel and we were extremely careful to not do anything there that would cost us extra. Hotels in Las Vegas will charge you on every step so we didn't even open the mini fridge. I heard that some places will charge you even when you open the fridge door. After that, we just walked along the Las Vegas strip. Looked at famous places and I took some photos.

Here you can see probably the most famous hotel in Las Vegas, the Caesars Palace and the fountains in front of it. This hotel has been featured in countless movies. It was cool to see the place with my own eyes.

This is Gordon Ramsay's Hell's Kitchen. Maybe you have heard about this show, it's pretty cool and I have seen a lot of it. I even tried to book a dinner there but it was all booked out. To be honest we were not too keen on spending about $300-400 on dinner for two either. So I just settled for taking a photo in front of the restaurant 😀.

A couple of more evening photos.

After sleeping for the night, we went to check out a bit more on the strip. Since it was a daytime, the temperature was around 36C (97F) and rising + full sunshine, it wasn't easy to stay outdoors.

Here is a Statue Of Liberty replica.

Here you can see a Mandala Bay hotel that is famous in a bad way. In 2017 there was one of the worst mass shootings in US history when a gunman opened fire from the hotel windows into a country music festival, killing a lot of people and injuring hundreds. Even I remember the news because it made headlines here in Estonia too at the time.

I also visited the High Rollers Ferris wheel the previous evening which is one of the highest in the world but I will do a separate post on it.

Before you ask. Yes, I did go to a casino and spend about 30 dollars lol. I didn't take any photos with a camera in the casino. If you ever travel to Las Vegas and even if you don't like casinos like me. Then it is still mandatory to visit one casino at least once when there. It's just a cultural thing to do lol. You can find casinos on literally every corner.

I love this! The single chance to explore Las Vegas was by playing The Crew video game and seeing all these buildings within my hours spent in that game, lol! Hopefully I'll manage to taste the experience one day with my own eyes too :)

I have played The Crew too. Pretty fun to drive around and see places but these are still not accurate, unfortunately.
Definitely worth giving it a visit at least one in a lifetime!

Glad you made the most out of your layover and got to experience Vegas.

Yes, I sure took out everything of this trip I possibly could lol.

Las Vegas is on my list of countries to visit :) I don't know if i get the chance to visit it or not, but thank you for showing me this beautiful city :)

Las Vegas is not a country tho, it's a city in the USA, Nevada state.😀

Wow that's all are pretty cool click's. The weather is good now and hope you enjoyed.

Thanks! Right now its definitely more milder there.

Pretty shots for sure, I'll tell my friends little about Las Vegas with all these convincing images.

Thanks! Absolutely, go ahead!

What a beautiful view. Night pictures always the best

When a camera can handle ISO, its great to take shots in the dark.

How on earth would I have seen this beautiful photos if you have gone to Colorado, lol! this photos has made me include Las Vegas on list of countries to visit

This is not Colorado though, it's Nevada, in the USA. Glad you liked the shots!

Fun pictures. I got to Vegas a few times every year for the shows and get to stay at my timeshare in the south side of town. I like how you chose the New York hotel skyline to feature in your article. It always makes me chuckle that they took my hometown and built a replica hotel of the skyline in the middle of the desert.

Luxor has a huge LAN gaming center and eSports arena! That's where we had Splinterfest!

I never saw other parts of the city, only the strip.
Las Vegas really likes to build replicas of places I can see lol.

Oh cool! We were thinking about stepping into the Luxor pyramid hotel cause we were curious how it looked from the inside but didn't unfortunately due to lack of time.

It just looks like any other hotel really. It is the rooms on the edges of the pyramid that have that funky slanted glass on the sides, but beyond that it feels the same as all the other mega casinos.

I so much love the beautiful view of this night picture

Night shots are pretty dope yes.
