"The Dragon Hears Love Fading all colorful still overflowing"
One of my fiddle leaf trees at work dropped a leaf a few days ago. When I found it was all wrinkly and dry. It reminded me of a caterpillar's cocoon and I picked it up to have a closer look. Then I knew I take it home for some Light Painting experiments. The surface was dry and had a lot of texture that I expected to come out nicely when I shed the light in the right way. Little did I know how cool it would come out. see for yourselves.

Setup - What how?
Here you can see my ultra-sophisticated setup on my stove. The reason was simply laziness and well there is that really cool reflection on the cooking field.

This was a quick simplistic Lighting test. Looks already kind of mystic.
"Das war ein schneller, einfacher Beleuchtungstest. Sieht schon irgendwie mystisch aus."
Settings for the real Light Paintings
The exposure times got shorter each time I was shedding the light onto that leaf. The Light Painting above is a single exposure with 25 seconds at ISO 100 with an F22 on my Sigma 105mm F.28 Macro lens. For the image below it was a 30-second exposure time. The variation is plainly because of me, depending on how much time it took me to change the lights and the colors.
Die Belichtungszeiten wurden bei jedem Mal etwas kürzer. Das oben gezeigte Light Painting ist eine Einzelelichtung mit 25 Sekunden bei ISO 100 und einer Blende von F22 auf meinem Sigma 105mm F2.8 Macro-Objektiv. Für das Bild sinds 30 Sekunden. Die Zeitunterschiede kommen von mir, je nachdem, wie viel Zeit ich brauchte, um die Lampen und Farben zu ändern."
When I had the settings I kept on playing with different flashlights and different lighting techniques. I was playing with the angle and of course, the speed at which I moved the lights across the leaf. The areas where the white and the red melt turned out so cool. As if the dragon's heart is bleeding.
Als ich die Einstellungen hatte, habe ich mit verschiedenen Taschenlampen und verschiedenen Beleuchtungstechniken experimentiert. Wichtig wurde hier der Winkel und die Geschwindigkeit, mit der ich die Lichter über das Blatt bewegte. Das Verschmelzen vom Weiß und Rot is so cool. Als ob das Herz des Drachen bluten würde.
Take a closer look you will observe that I was experimenting with an orange light from the 90° to the left and a kick light from straight behind (next image). The Kick-light got me these interesting patterns on the cooking field and well also the dust which I did like and did not clean up. Its magical dragon dust of course.
Achtet mal auf das orangefarbenen Licht von links aus dem 90°-Winkel und das Kicklicht hinter dem Blatt (das nächste Bild). Ihr seht hier cool wie das Kicklicht von hinten die interessanten Muster auf dem Kochfeld und auch den Staub beschert. Natürlich ist das magischer Drachenstaub.
Different colors provide a different mood. Here is a more simplistic composition.
Verschiedene Farben erzeugen unterschiedliche Stimmungen. Hier ist eine eher einfache Komposition.
For the next one I chose the red kick light but it did not have such a great effect on the leaf. I was hoping a little bit that some light comes through. But the leaf was so dead no light really came through. So I just added some more white light from the right side. This way the little veins are coming out strong.
Beim nächsten nahm ich das rote Kicklight, das gab mir aber nicht so einen coolen Effekt. Ich hatte ein wenig gehofft, dass etwas Licht hindurchscheinen würde. Aber das Blatt war so abgestorben, dass wirklich kein Licht hindurchkam. Dann hab ich einfach noch bisschen weiß von der Seite eingeleuchtet. So kommen die kleinen Adern richtig raus.

I have the suspicion that this may be my favorite when I revisit the folder in a few months time. It has this relay cool contrast of white, yellow, and black. Cool choice!

Weil du meinest, es scheint nicht durch... wie wäre denn mal ein Experiment mit einer Physalis?
Physalis steht schon ne Weile auf dem Plan. Kaufe ich aber sonst nie und dann vergesse ich das immer wieder. Aber Danke ... das probiere ich dann mal.
Hier siehst du mal ein Blatt der gleichen Baumart. Als das Blatt noch frisch war, gabs auch noch fluorescence Effekte. Naja und noch Light Painting dazu, dann fand ich es auch cool. Wenn du genauhinschaust siehst du wie schön auch das licht durchgeht und die Zellstruckturen zeigt. Das wäre noch genial gewesen. Darauf hatte ich gehofft.

Das ist sehr cool, vor allem noch mit Lila. Ich kenne Feigen gut, habe selbst eine im Vorgarten und hab das tatsächlich auch schon gemacht (auch mit rotem Licht). Die Qualität ist nicht so gut wie deine, aber ich suche es dir später mal raus :)
