Throwback to last winter

Last winter, when the world was covered by the fear of COVID-19, I left a big city, went to the countryside in Japan.
It's a beautiful place with friendly people.I rent a little cottage near a ski resort.

Last year was a bitter winter for Japan, but a perfect year for snowboarders.

My daily routine was to get up in the early morning, grab my snowboard, and walk to the ski resort.
I always could be the first customer to get into the resort.

I really love to see the mark left on the snow after sno-cat ran through the piste.

The view you can see while sitting on a ski lift is also spectacular.

Although it's been a tough year for everyone, there is still some wonderful things for us to look for.
I would say it was a perfect winter for me.

Hope you guys enjoy my photos.
I stayed there for three months and took a lot of photos if anyone is interested just let me know.

Oh wow, your first pic looks exactly like the place where I lived in Japan, 14 years ago. It was in the beautiful "Japanese Alps" of Nagano-ken. The town's name was Shiojiri, but I'm sure that's not it, since the ski resorts were not just in walking distance... only 30 minutes driving. Thanks for bringing up those nice memories.
