Basilica of Santa Teresa and Santa Ana
Caracas, like any city founded by the Spaniards in colonial times, received a strong impact from European culture, who brought their customs, their styles and mainly their religion to these lands, which little by little made its way until becoming today. in the main cult of devotion of the inhabitants of this city. Caracas como toda ciudad fundada por los españoles en la época colonial recibió un fuerte impacto de la cultura europea, quienes trajeron a estas tierras sus costumbres, sus estilos y principalmente su religión, la cual poco a poco se fue abriendo camino hasta convertirse hoy en día en el principal culto de devoción de los habitantes de esta ciudad. Con el pasar de los años el catolicismo fue adquiriendo cada vez mayor influencia dentro de la sociedad venezolana, por lo tanto, se fueron construyendo muchos más templos, los cuales se caracterizaban por contar con una estructura cada vez más vanguardista y con espacios muy amplios.

Para el año 1881 se terminaría la construcción de una nueva y grandiosa iglesia que bajo la advocación de Santa Teresa y Santa Ana llegaría en un momento en donde el gobierno del General Antonio Guzmán Blanco libraba una fuerte disputa con la iglesia católica. En esta oportunidad nos detendremos solo en las fachadas de este edificio, las cuales impresionan por su estilo neoclásico y son el punto de referencia por excelencia de toda la zona, es importante resaltar que el nombre de este templo se colocó originalmente en honor a la esposa del General, la cual se llamaba Ana Teresa, y es por esta razón que la fachada este lleva la imagen y el nombre de Santa Teresa, mientras que en la oeste se resalta la figura de Santa Ana.
Despite the fact that the official name of this place is Basilica of Santa Teresa and Santa Ana, most of the population only knows it as Santa Teresa and it is important to point out that within its walls the figure of the Nazarene of San Pablo is protected, a venerated image by millions of people, as well as the remains of a martyr dating from the early years of Christianity. A pesar de que el nombre oficial de este lugar es Basílica de Santa Teresa y Santa Ana la mayoría de la población solo la conoce como Santa Teresa y es importante señalar que dentro de sus muros se resguarda la figura del Nazareno de San Pablo una imagen venerada por millones de personas, así como los restos de un mártir que data de los primeros años de la cristiandad. Pronto hare una nueva publicación en donde juntos podamos recorrer estos increíble espacios y donde se muestre a detalle lo imponente de este templo dedicado al servicio religioso católico.
