We are supposed to be in summer now...but we recently had the coldest day of the year...lol!
With December fast approaching, we are used to temperatures of 30 degrees+ (Celcius), but to give you an idea, here is a screenshot of the expected weather forecast on my phone, showing expected temperatures from Today (Thursday) until Tuesday, November 14.
On Saturday, October 24, we had a nice, pleasant, sunny day though. So, we headed out for a walk on the beach.
We don't go to the main beaches in Durban due to all the crowds, but we were in the area and decided to see if it would be worth going for a walk.
We had a pleasant surprise. Almost in the middle of the Golden Mile, just below "The Bay of Plenty" beach, it was reasonably quiet and we noticed some surfers having fun in the surf just below one of the piers.
I decided to get some photos.
Looking out over the beach and the ocean, standing next to the pier. The surfers were on the other side of the pier.
Going onto the pier...
Walking onto the pier, the surfers were in the water below us, on the left side of the pier.
While another surfer passed through under the next wave in the next photo below (you can still see his one foot), this guy decided that that was the wave for him...
He had a nice ride...
The waves weren't all that big, but it was good enough to have some good fun.

While these two guys were returning to the deeper water again, this youngster decided it was time to choose his wave...
While he was well on his way...
...his friend decided to join him on the same wave.
And with that, after spending some time, watching the surfers, we come to the end of today's post.

Surfing is probably dangerous. As soon as people are not afraid to do it.
You are probably right. I have heard of some bad surfing accidents...like guys hitting the rocks, shark attacks, etc. But so are there many activities that have risks of their own. So, I suppose it depends on who you talk to... I'm sure the majority of surfers feel it is safe, as long as you are responsible.

Nice to see people going back into the water, our water along Warner Beach no go with sewage once again.
