The orchid is one of my favorite flowers to photograph or even have around the house. They are simply beautiful and the colors are so vibrant to the eye.
It reminds me of a zen feeling with their simplicity. These photos are taken with a Nikon 750. I was trying to capture the full flower and get a nice bokeh effect at the same time.
The purples are my favorite. They have a stark contrast to the green leaves or other backgrounds.
There certainly is a great variety of colors, but the simple elegance of the flower is what draws me to this flower.
This time I switched to my other Nikon and zoom lens (70-300) to get the desired close-up of the flower bud and bokeh background.
The orchid is a flower that I love to have around the house and enjoy it's simple look and it's flower pedals are quite unique compared to others.
