“Japanese Temples Photography Part 1”

I am sharing my old temple photo collection. I used to live in the Kanto area in Japan, my place was pretty close to Kamakura easily. I was very happy to visit the Kamakura area by train. I could go there for about less than 30 minutes by train. Kamakura is a famous Japanese ancient city. It was the Japanese capital city a long time ago. It is a very historic place.

I rode a bike once with my husband to get to Kamakura. The bike ride wasn't easy but it was very exciting. We had to go through many spooky old tunnels by bike. Also, we went to Kamakura on foot using an old hiking trail. We never met anyone on the hiking trail. That was also a bit spooky but beautiful.

I went to the north Kamakura area called “Kita Kamakura” by myself when I took these photos. I love to visit Kita Kamakura because I feel very calm. The main Kamakura area is also very cool but Kita Kamakura attracts me more. I took some photos at the Engaku temple called Engakuji. I did Zazen meditation at this temple before. I will show you other photos next time.

Engaku temple is very famous so, you can get there easily from the station. I was so excited to go there by myself. I don't know why but I love to smell the temple’s atmosphere.

I love this massive beautiful temple gate. Its existence and details are gorgeous. I was lost for words in front of this gate.

This place is amazing to keep this shape until our modern society. I appreciate it.

I love this culture so much, you have such magical places that don't seem real and this is one of them, I've always wanted to travel there and see if it's the same as in the movies.

Yeah, there are many magical places in Japan for sure. As you said, it’s interesting to check some places which we see through movies. I say yes it’s true but you might be surprised to see super cool ancient historical things right next to modern tall buildings. Or as opposites, there are very gorgeous modern high tech things right next to the old things. Almost all things are packed in Japan!
I hope you can visit Japan someday in the future to check it!

I love that area. When I first came to Japan, I visited there by myself and walked the various trails they had in the hills and low mountains near the large Buddha. It made such an impression on me.

I am glad you like that area as well! Yes, it gives us a big impression for sure. There are many cool hiking trails. I miss visiting Kamakura.

I've never been here. I'll have to add it to my list! Unfortunately except for quickly passing through I have only been to Kamakura once. One of these days I'll have to return and explore it more.

I like the Kita Kamakura area very much. I’m sure that you are going to have a chance to spend time in Kamakura someday in the future. I want to see your Kamakura photography as well!
