According to the big Indonesian dictionary, bonsai is a dwarfed plant that is obtained by planting it in a pot in a certain way, pruning roots and branches, controlled fertilization. Usually, bonsai plants are made as miniatures of the original form of large, old trees in the wild for decoration and as learning purposes. with the existence of bonsai plants, we will be able to see the beauty of trees that are originally large in the room. Bonsai are not genetically dwarfed plants, in fact, every type of tree can be used to grow them.

The art of bonsai first appeared in China during the reign of the Tsin dynasty and flourished during the Tang dynasty 618 - 907.This can be seen in the paintings made during the Tang dynasty which were very popular with royal officials at that time. in 1280 - 1368 many officials, students, and traders who came from Japan brought the art of bonsai to their country so that it developed rapidly as evidenced in the paintings made by Takakane Takashina around 1309. In 1914 in Tokyo the first bonsai exhibition was held . This aims to raise public attention to the art of bonsai. Since 1934 until now, an annual exhibition has been held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, which prioritizes interesting works of bonsai. This is where the art of bonsai penetrates all over the world and also includes Indonesia. Even today, the art of dwarfing trees (bonsai) does not only belong to the Chinese or Japanese, but also belongs to all nations in the world.

for now in my area there are many coconut bonsai. The uniqueness of this coconut bonsai is one of the most difficult to make compared to other types of bonsai trees. If it is another tree, once it is formed it will stay on display, finished. But for coconut, it is formed and must be controlled regularly.
coconut trees that usually grow tall and tall can be bonsai. Even some hobbyists have succeeded in making branched bonsai to a mini size.making coconut plants into bonsai is not easy, but if you succeed in doing it, it will not only have high artistic value, because the selling price is very high. Bonsai collectors generally do not mind high prices to fulfill their hobby.

to get the results from the bonsai garden, you need to cut the bottom shoots of the bonsai seeds that have grown to about 10 to 20 cm. how to cut this coconut bonsai needs to be carefully considered. Avoid cutting the young shoots so they don't rot. This cutting is done at least 2 times a week
