Evening Walk Through Wintery Kraków
I spent last night strolling through beautifully illuminated, wintry Kraków. This time of year gives the city a unique atmosphere — the warm glow of the lamps contrasts with the cool blue of the winter sky, and the snow adds a fairy-tale charm to the streets and monuments.
The Cloth Hall Arcades and St. Mary’s Basilica at Dusk
My first stop was the Main Market Square. Under the arcades of the Cloth Hall, there was a pleasant calm, interrupted only by the conversations of passersby and the sound of footsteps echoing off the stone floor. On the other side of the square stood St. Mary’s Basilica, with its illuminated towers emphasizing even more the Gothic character of the church.

Wawel Reflected in the Waters of the Vistula
The next point of my walk was the view of Wawel Castle from the Vistula boulevards. Despite the winter chill, a remarkable silence hung over the city, and the castle lights reflected beautifully in the calm surface of the river. The whole scene looked like a ready-made film set — majestic, nostalgic, and quintessentially Kraków.

Summary
An evening walk like this is the perfect way to fall in love with Kraków all over again. Especially in winter, when the city lights create a one-of-a-kind atmosphere, and the familiar landmarks look as if taken straight from the pages of a beautiful photo album.
