In The Forest At Night - Lightpainting on HIVE

PHENOMENON

It had come to my attention that in a nearby forest, objects which seem to consist only of light can be seen at night. So, together with @stepko, I went in search of the objects. But first we met this contemporary. He wanted to inoculate us against something and was talking a lot of nonsense. We quickly took a photo of him and then walked further into the forest.

Mir war zu Ohren gekommen, dass in einem nahegelegenen Wald nachts Objekte, welche nur aus Licht zu bestehen scheinen, zu sehen sind. Also machte ich mich gemeinsam mit @stepko auf die Suche nach den Objekten. Aber zuerst trafen wir auf diesen Zeitgenossen. Er wollte uns gegen irgentetwas impfen und redete dabei lauter wirres Zeug. Wir machten schnell ein Foto von ihm und liefen dann weiter in den Wald.

On a small forest path we discovered several of these light objects. Very impressive. Luckily I had already set up the camera and could photograph the objects.

Auf einem kleinen Waldweg entdeckten wir dann gleich mehrere dieser Lichtobjekte. Sehr beeindruckend. Zum Glück hatte ich die Kamera schon aufgestellte und konnte die Objekte fotografieren.

All images were taken in a single exposure each and, apart from editing, were not processed on the computer. The light figures were created with the RGB Critter and various glass fibres. The thick glass fibres from Light Painting Paradise and a light whip with glass fibres of different lengths were used here. The lighting was done with the Emisar D18 and a self-made back light scanner.

Alle Bilder wurden in jeweils einer einzelnen Belichtung aufgenommen und, vom Schnitt abgesehen, nicht am Computer bearbeitet. Die Lichtfiguren wurden mit der RGB Critter und verschiedenen Glasfasern erstellt. Zum Einsatz kamen hier die dicken Glasfasern von Light Painting Paradise und eine Lichtpeitsche mit Glasfasern unterschiedlicher Länge. Die Ausleuchtung habe ich mit der Emisar D18 und einem selbstgebauten Back Light Scanner gemacht.

That was another fine night outing with @stepko, even though it was very warm. There was not a breath of wind and the temperature was still 25°C at 2:00 am.

Das war wieder ein feiner nächtlicher Ausflug mit @stepko, auch wenn es sehr warm war. Es wehte kein Lüftchen und die Temperatur lag auch um 2:00 Uhr noch bei 25°C.

WHAT IS LIGHT PAINTING?

Light painting is a unique form of art. The darkness is illuminate by the artist with diverse light sources and light traces are paint into the picture with various light tools. Various techniques are use, such as camera rotation or other movements of the camera during the exposure. The creative possibilities are almost unlimited. All the pictures were taken during one single exposure. Apart from denoising, sharpening, cutting and possibly adjusting the white balance, the pictures are not processed on the computer.

Was für eine abgefahrene Nacht. In Berlin erlebt man immer was, sogar "Monkeys" rennen da rum. Aber die Lichtobjekte waren das Highlight.
War ein schönes Wochenende und ich freue mich schon auf das nächste Abenteuer 😎
