Light & Camera Rotation - Light Painting on Hive

It's cold outside. It is windy outside. I don't feel like walking around in the cold, even though I've thawed out from the last trip. I thought it was spring. One can be so wrong.

So there are some pictures from the cellar. I attached various light sources to the electric rotating device, acrylic blades or small acrylic rods, illuminated them with the Ryus Lightworks torch or the Ants On A Melon colour lamp. After each rotation of the tool, I turned the camera around the optical axis. You can see the results here.

Here I have also painted a rainbow star in the middle. For this I had mounted a star effect filter and then briefly shone the torch in the direction of the camera.

In the last picture I had put the Helios 44/2 on the camera after the rotation and painted the jellyfish bokeh into the picture with the black fiber optic and green Convoy S2+.

WHAT IS LIGHT PAINTING?

Light painting is a unique form of art. The darkness is illuminate by the artist with diverse light sources and light traces are paint into the picture with various light tools. Various techniques are use, such as camera rotation or other movements of the camera during the exposure. The creative possibilities are almost unlimited. All the pictures were taken during one single exposure. Apart from denoising, sharpening, cutting and possibly adjusting the white balance, the pictures are not processed on the computer.

Wow...

Na dann ab in die Dunkelkammer. 😁

Whooooooooooooooooooah, that looks fantastic! I'm not sure how you did that but I'm so eager to try something similar.

Have fun. You need a rotating stick of 1.5 to 2 meters length, some light sources mounted to the stick and a tool to rotate the camera.

Are you using led lights?

I hope the links are helpful for you.

Aaaaaaha! Now I can see. Thanks for taking the time, btw. That's a lot of cool stuff you've got there. Awesome.

You are welcome.

I use LED torches with colour filters, colour torches and a colour light for Poi's but you can use other light sources if you like.

They are so cool @lichtkunstfoto 😎
Very creative.

Thanks 🙂

You are welcome 😊

Man, these are so cool it's cold out there so you could take the time to share all these with us!

Thanks. I hope I can go outside next days with my torches. It is ok to work at home, but it is always better in the wild.

Leaves you in a bit of a spin, rotation shots are so addictive. I have to try not to turn every photo opportunity into a rotation. 😁

🤣 Sometimes I leave the CRT at home.
