DARKNESS, SOFT LIGHTS, WARM COLOURS
Hello friends of the cultivated vintage lens photography. Today I'm showing you some pictures that I took with a modified Мир 1Б. This is an old lens from Soviet production with a focal length of 37 mm. I rotated the front lens on this one. I have only ever used this particular lens for light painting. In addition to the special bokeh, which is made even more impressive by the conversion, I particularly like the beautiful, warm colours that this lens produces. By today's high-tech standards, the lens is technically an absolute disaster. Low resolution, very pronounced vignetting, no correct reproduction of colours, etc. But for this very reason, the images are special, unique and full of character. With the modern, "perfect" lens, such photos don't succeed, no matter how much time and energy you invest in post processing.
Hallo Freunde der gepflegten Altglas Fotografie. Heute zeige ich euch einige Bilder, die ich mit einem modifizierten Мир 1Б aufgenommen habe. Hierbei handelt es sich um ein altes Objektiv aus sowjetischer Produktion mit einer Brennweite von 37 mm. Bei diesem habe ich die Frontlinse gedreht. Ich hab dieses besondere Objektiv bisher ausschließlich im Lightpainting verwendet. Neben dem besonderen Bokeh, welches durch den Umbau noch eindrucksvoller dargestellt wird, gefallen mit besonders die schönen, warmen Farben, die dieses Objektiv darstellt. Für die heutigen Hightech Maßstäbe ist das Objektiv technisch eine absolute Katastrophe. Geringe Auflösung, stark ausgeprägte Vignetierung, keine korrekte Wiedergabe der Farben usw.. Aber genau aus diesem Grund sind die Bilder besonders, einzigartig und charaktervoll. Mit der modernen, "perfekten" Linse gelingen solche Fotos nicht, egal wieviel Zeit und Kraft man in das Post Processing investiert.
It was grey, dark and foggy that day. I tried to capture this special atmosphere in my pictures. Somehow this mood matched the state of my soul that day. Overshadowed by oppressive darkness, sadness, despair and listlessness, there was this wonderful soft light and in some places these beautiful, warm colours.
An diesem Tag war es grau, dunkel und neblig. Diese besondere Stimmung versuchte ich in meinen Bildern fest zu halten. Irgendwie passte diese Stimmung zum Zustand meiner Seele an diesem Tag. Überschattet von erdrückender Dunkelheit, Trauer, Verzweiflung und Antriebslosigkeit gab es dieses wundervolle weiche Licht und an einigen Stellen diese schönen, warmen Farben.
Ich war in einem der dünnbesiedeltsten Teile Deutschlands unterwegs, mitten in Mecklenburg. Für einige Wochen versuchte ich zur Ruhe zu kommen, Kraft zu tanken. Die Ruhe und Weite taten mir gut. Ich konnte stundenlang an einem der zahlreichen Seen sitzen ohne dabei von lauten Menschen oder starken Zivilisationsgeräuschen gestört worden zu sein. Ich begegnete während meines Aufenthalts einigen sehr besonderen, wundervollen, liebevollen Menschen. Ohne euch und unsere besondere emotionale Verbindung wäre die Zeit dort um Einiges härter für mich gewesen. Danke, dass ihr Teil meines Lebens geworden seid.

There is a realism to these photos that I appreciate. Modern digital photography can produce some stunning images, but these feel like you shared this real, natural space with us. I know what that grass feels like and the water. Looking at these evokes a feeling of being there, rather than just a sense of looking at a cool image on my computer.
