Moody Stroll at Sorano

Today I would love to share with you my memories and photographs from a moody, late autumn, stroll at the city of Sorano, in the Southern, outskirt part of Tuscany, very close to the region of Lazio.

Is it actually a city? I can't tell for sure, I'd say it is rather a town. That would also depend on how it. felt to me. As it has a lot of buildings, the most of them built by stones, but at the same time it felt a bit ghostly, or probably a big part of those buildings were empty by the time I visited.

Anyway, I am grateful of that fact as I had the liberty to walk, wander, stroll around as long as I wanted to, and enjoy the scenery beauty of it all.

Driving there with a rental car was the best way to enjoy that medieval destination.

Even when approaching it, from far away I could tell it is something special:

And not only by the way those buildings are "grouped" together. Even that small house of an artist by the road, with creepy statues put outside:

The curvy roads, cutting the mountains and touching the clouds:

The caves in the slopes with the giant sequoia trees growing on top:

The Sun was shy, and hidden behind lots of puffy clouds. I didn't mind at all. It was all perfect with that sun light peeking now and then, drafting upon the beauties around.

A small square in the old center with beautiful water spring, a memorial, and the only occupant at the moment - a sleeping little tiger cat :)

The water was so sweet and delicious!

Some of the houses around were giving me a hint about their age, even by their doors. With some modern touches but the wood cannot lie:

Random couple of young tourists, with hand in hand, sensing the love around.

I found lots of magnificent doors around to admire:

Did I tell you how much I love narrow streets? They make you feel protected, sheltered, if you wish. Also, no space for cars, or other modern things that can potentially pollute the area around!

Steps that could tell many stories, I am sure:

Strange enough, even that old wooden door made by planks has a street number! I wonder, who lives inside? Frankly though, I would not knock on that door!

Suddenly I see a wonderful autumn gully view:

And then, poof, a short calm rain is pouring over, changing the alleys into mirrors:

Another loving couple passing by, or it could be that same one, that I met earlier. Couldn't tell under the raincoats and the umbrella!

The rain though, is life for the plants and the beautiful flowers:

Via della Sparna provides for some breathtaking views of the residential buildings in the hood:

More narrow streets walking and more awesome details that I see and admire:

Finally, the rain is over and the Sun wins, casting the shadows and drawing on the warmer walls of the houses...

I love all the time I have spent here!

You really love to show us magical things. Or your camera makes them magical?
Every time I look at a place from your posts, I start digging into my own 'memory', my own 'archives and records' in my head - do I know this place, have I been there myself? I feel like even if I've been to one of these places, it's completely unfamiliar to me the way you show it, through the lens of your magic camera. And yet no, unfortunately, I have not been to this wonderful corner. Another point in my personal must-visit map. Eh, one life is not enough 🤔

Yes, this place is almost magical. Probably I have to remove that "almost" :)
I'd definitely recommend visiting it, there are also other small establishments around that are full of beauty!

One of the picture which I like a lot in this post is the place where the road bend and the shot was taken, it really look so attractive and I really love it. I guess this is not a phone camera

Thank you!
