Nice to meet you all! My name is Sandra, I'm a 30-year-old photography lover from central Mexico, not the gorgeous beach Mexico most of you know and love, but from very pretty city with a gorgeous and picturesque downtown area I hope to show you in one of my future posts.
I was born in Mexico, raised in Florida, U.S.A and then brought back to Mexico. I consider myself blessed to have the deep knowledge I have about both countries and cultures since that has opened up many many opportunities for me in the past. I hope for the same opportunities within this platform, as I feel I have lots of insights to share with both English and Spanish speaking communities about a wonderful "Mexican-American-Mexican again" life I've led.
I have been interested in photography my entire life, and I like to say it's in my genes, as my dad was also a photographer, a very passionate and talented one at that. Naturally, after years of being his official equipment carrier, photography was imprinted in my brain as something to love and cherish. My father passed away in September due to Covid, and I credit my recent and ongoing creative streak to his death and the huge impact it had on me. It has been difficult, but having been passed down his photography equipment gave me the creative push I needed, and a way to grieve and honor my dad and our favorite hobby. I do lots of nature photography, portraits and am breaking into street photography.
You will also find here recipes of all kinds. I'm a foodie so you'll get lots of fried, carby, and spicy mexican deliciousness, but my household includes people with Celiac disease which has made me acquire excellent skills at coming up with tons of delicious gluten free recipes. If you live in places like Mexico, you know how difficult it is to navigate this disease and how limited the options are for GF products compared to places like the US, so hopefully I can help many of you guys interested.
My photography includes scouting places for the best shots, so I'm also interested in hiking, camping and general outdoorsy stuff. I'm looking forward to taking you along with me to explore the beautiful spots my country has to offer. I love a good adventure.
Music is another one of my passions. I pride myself in having a vast taste in music, however, I was not blessed with musical talent myself. Which is about to change cause what kind of music addict can't play an instrument? Shame on me. Hopefully you'll also join me on my journey to learn guitar.
I want to give a special thanks to my friend @artificialryan, who introduced me to the community. He's crazy talented, go check out his posts.
Thanks for reading and hope you enjoy!
