Birding with the Nikon Z9 paired with the 24-120mm lens (33 photos)

in Photography Loverslast year (edited)

I recently had the opportunity to test out the Nikon Z9, and I'm here to tell you all about it. I had a F mount Tamron 70-200mm paired with the FTZ adaptor, but unfortunately, I didn't test it out before taking it out to shoot. It turns out I would need to buy in the Tamron's TAP in console for a firmware update in order for it to work with the Z9. It's a good thing I did have a second lens with me, the native Z mount 24-120mm.

I took it out for a spin in some of my favorite bird-watching spots, and I was amazed by how much detail it was able to capture. The Nikon Z9 has an incredible resolution of 45.7 megapixels, so even when zoomed in all the way, you can see every feather on your subject's body in crystal clarity. This is especially helpful if you're trying to identify birds by their markings or colors—you'll never miss another detail again!

The Nikon Z9 is a beast! 120 fps if shot in JPG. It's hefty, but not too heavy. The screen is huge and gorgeous, and it's got great battery life. When Mirrorless first came out, we keep hearing about people complain about the battery life. However, with the Z9, I was out shooting all day and still have 10% charge left over. It can take amazing photos, but it also has some pretty cool features that make it great for everyday use as well.

Here are the results: (I hope you guys like them)

I'll be back with more birding photos with the 70-200mm soon!

Does anyone know why some photos is loading as an error? I tried to edit and re-upload, but im getting the same problem. Is there a file size limit?

I've had the same issue recently when uploading via Ecency, it could be the file sizes? Try resizing to 2048 along the longest edge perhaps?

Anyway - love the photos, birds are great subjects all year round.

I'm going to try again in the winter and see if I can capture anything speical
Thanks Nick! :)
