Direkt oberhalb des Strandes Biscarrosse Plage in Biscarrosse (Frankreich) steht dieses schön grosse Riesenrad. Schon von weitem kann man es sehen, wie es auf dem Hügel über die umliegenden Häuser ragt. Und da ich im Momemt immer meine Kamera in meinem Rucksack mittrage, um meine Eindrücke der neuen und mir fremden Orte festzuhalten, habe ich schon beim ersten Rundgang durch das trotz Nebensaison noch belebte Bicarrosse ein paar Fotos geknipst. Beim nächsten Aufenthalt im Städtchen haben meine Freundin und ich uns auch ein paar Runden auf dem Riesenrad gegönnt.
Directly above the beach Biscarrosse Plage in Biscarrosse (France) stands this beautifully large Ferris wheel. You can see it from far away, towering over the surrounding houses on the hill. And since I always carry my camera in my backpack at the moment to capture my impressions of new and unfamiliar places, I took a few photos on my first tour of Bicarrosse, which is still busy despite the low season. The next time we were in the town, my girlfriend and I also treated ourselves to a few laps on the Ferris wheel.
Justo encima de la playa de Biscarrosse Plage, en Biscarrosse (Francia), se encuentra esta preciosa noria de grandes dimensiones. Se puede ver desde lejos, sobresaliendo por encima de las casas de los alrededores en la colina. Y como siempre llevo mi cámara en la mochila para captar mis impresiones de lugares nuevos y desconocidos, tomé unas cuantas fotos en mi primera visita a Bicarrosse, que sigue estando muy concurrida a pesar de la temporada baja. La siguiente vez que estuvimos en la ciudad, mi novia y yo también nos dimos unas vueltas en la noria.
Dies ist die Ausicht Richtung Norden. Erst in grosser Höhe wird einem die Dimension des fast unendlich langen Sandstrandes bewusst. Besonders auffallend war auch der grüne Rasen unterhalb des Riesenrades (wir befinden uns auf einer Sanddüne) welcher nach der extremen Hitze und Trockenheit stets frisch gewässert aussah und kaum vertrocknete und braune Stellen aufwies. Geniessen konnte man die grüne Augenweide trotzdem nicht wirklich, weil der Rasen leider von vielen Touristen als Hundespielplatz und Toilette benutzt wurde.
This is the view towards the north. Only at high altitude does one realise the dimension of the almost infinitely long sandy beach. Particularly striking was the green lawn below the Ferris wheel (we are on a sand dune) which always looked freshly watered after the extreme heat and drought and hardly showed any dried up or brown spots. Nevertheless, one could not really enjoy the green feast for the eyes, because the lawn was unfortunately used by many tourists as a dog playground and toilet.
Esta es la vista hacia el norte. Sólo en las alturas uno se da cuenta de la dimensión de la playa de arena, de longitud casi infinita. Llama especialmente la atención el verde césped que había debajo de la noria (estamos en una duna), que siempre parecía recién regado después del calor extremo y la sequía y apenas mostraba manchas secas o marrones. Sin embargo, no se podía disfrutar realmente de esta fiesta verde para los ojos, ya que el césped era utilizado, por desgracia, por muchos turistas como zona de juegos y aseos para perros.
Hier schweift der Blick in Richtung Süden, wo Mimizan und später Biarritz liegt. Auf dem Bild nicht gut zu erkennen ist, dass der Strand einige hundert Meter weiter südlich komplett menschenleer war. Dies, weil sich hier ein Raketentestgelände und Sperrgebiet der französischen Streitkräften befindet.
Here, the view wanders towards the south, where Mimizan and later Biarritz are located. It is not easy to see in the picture that the beach a few hundred metres further south was completely deserted. This is because a missile test site and restricted area of the French armed forces is located here.
Aquí, la vista se desplaza hacia el sur, donde se encuentran Mimizan y más tarde Biarritz. No es fácil ver en la foto que la playa, unos cientos de metros más al sur, estaba completamente desierta. Esto se debe a que aquí se encuentra un centro de pruebas de misiles y una zona restringida de las fuerzas armadas francesas.
Blickt man ins Landesinnere erstreckt sich eine grosse grüne Fläche der fast bis zum Horizont reichenden Pinienwälder. Darunter befinden sich im Schatten der Bäume unzählige Campingplätze. Grössere und kleinere. Auch findet man hier ein Netz von Fahrradwegen namens "Vélodysse", welche sich von Biarritz bis weit nördlich in die Bretagne erstrecken. Auf der ganzen Strecke kann man immer wieder an die schönen Strände der französischen Westküste stechen. Das Befahen der Fahrradwege ist im Sommer sehr gemütlich, da die Baumkronen angenehm Schatten werfen und man nie mit grossen Steigungen zu kämpfen hat. Und ich liebe auch den Duft der Pinien. Nur sind im Momemt einige Abschnitte der Route gesperrt, weil grosse Flächen der Wälder den gewaltigen Waldbränden im Sommer 2022 zum Opfer gefallen sind.
Looking inland, a large green expanse of pine forests stretches almost to the horizon. Among them, in the shade of the trees, are countless campsites. Larger and smaller ones. There is also a network of cycle paths called "Vélodysse", which stretch from Biarritz far north into Brittany. All along the way, you can cycle to the beautiful beaches of the French west coast. Cycling along the paths is very pleasant in summer, as the treetops cast pleasant shade and you never have to contend with any big climbs. And I also love the smell of the pine trees. But at the moment, some sections of the route are closed because large areas of the forests have fallen victim to the huge forest fires in the summer of 2022.
Mirando hacia el interior, una gran extensión verde de pinares se extiende casi hasta el horizonte. Entre ellos, a la sombra de los árboles, hay innumerables campamentos. Más grandes y más pequeños. También existe una red de carriles bici llamada "Vélodysse", que se extiende desde Biarritz hasta el norte de Bretaña. A lo largo del trayecto, podrá pedalear hasta las hermosas playas de la costa oeste francesa. En verano es muy agradable pedalear por los senderos, ya que las copas de los árboles proyectan una agradable sombra y nunca hay que afrontar grandes subidas. Y también me encanta el olor de los pinos. Pero en este momento, algunos tramos de la ruta están cerrados porque grandes zonas de los bosques han sido víctimas de los enormes incendios forestales del verano de 2022.

Du schreibst aus der Gironde und warst noch nicht am fast unendlich langen Sandstrand, der bis nach Biarritz reicht? "Machs guet" klingt schweizerisch? Antworte dir hier weil ich zwar Discord habe, aber gar nicht weiss, wie ich jemanden adde... 🤔
Hätte mich sehr gefreut, Dich persönlich kennen zu lernen. Da ich selbst auch nur ein Anwender mit mässigen Kenntnissen bin, kann ich auch keine Verbindung herstellen. Mein Mentor ist gerade in A'dam, den will ich nicht stören.
Vielleicht ein anderes Mal oder gehst Du noch Richtung Royan auf der östlichen Route?
