When I went to the Beijing Zoo, I was so amazed by how many animals were there. It felt like one visit was not enough to really see and enjoy everything. In my first blog I focused on the animals I saw at the land now I will be sharing the animals that live in the water or cold areas that can be found in the zoo. They were so different from the land animals, and I really enjoyed watching them.

The first animals that caught my attention were the jellyfish. They looked so magical inside the big aquarium. The lights made them glow, and they looked like umbrellas floating slowly in the water. I stood there for a while, just watching how they moved. They didn’t have bones or even a brain, yet they looked so graceful. It was like they were dancing with the water. The green light around them made them look even more dreamy, almost like lanterns of the sea.

After the jellyfish, I went to see the penguins. I was so excited because penguins are always fun to watch. It was standing near the rocks. These were African penguins according to the tourist guide, not the kind that only live in ice. They had black backs and white bellies, almost like they were wearing tuxedos. Some were standing still, and some were walking around in their funny way. I liked seeing how they stayed close to each other, like they were part of a little family.

Then I saw a big container full of bright orange fish. They were swimming in groups, moving together like they were dancing in the water. Their orange color was so bright, and it made them look cheerful. In Chinese culture, fish like these are often seen as lucky, so I thought it was nice that the zoo had them. Watching them swim around made me feel calm and happy at the same time.

I also spotted the clownfish. I quickly remembered the movie Finding Nemo when I saw the small clownfish moving in and out of the soft tentacles. It was so cute to see how the clownfish and anemone live together. The clownfish stayed safe in its little home, while it also helped protect and clean the anemone. I liked watching this small partnership in the water. It made me smile because it felt like the clownfish was brave even if it was small.

One of the biggest highlights of my zoo trip was the polar bear. When I saw it, I was amazed at how big it was. Its white fur looked so thick and soft. The polar bear was sitting near the glass, and visitors could see it closely. It looked so calm, but you could also feel its strength just by looking at it. I imagined how it would be in its real home in the Arctic, walking on snow and searching for food. Seeing a polar bear up close felt so special, like meeting one of the most powerful animals of the north.

After that, I went to watch the sea lion show. This was such a fun part of my trip. The sea lion came out with its trainer and started to perform. It clapped its flippers, balanced things, and even jumped in the water. It looked so playful and happy while doing tricks. The crowd cheered and clapped, and it felt like the sea lion enjoyed the attention. I couldn’t stop smiling while watching because it was both funny and amazing at the same time.

I saw the lionfish. This fish was one of the most unique animals I saw in the aquarium. It had long spines that spread out like a fan, and its body had stripes of red, white, and brown. It looked so beautiful, almost like a piece of art moving in the water. But I also knew it was dangerous because its spines are venomous. Even though it moved slowly, it still looked strong and powerful. It was one of those animals that you want to keep staring at because of how stunning it looks.

By the end of my trip, I felt so happy that I got to see all these animals. They were very different from the land animals I wrote about before, but they were just as amazing. The glowing jellyfish, the funny penguins, the colorful fish, the brave clownfish, the strong polar bear, the playful sea lion, and the striking lionfish all of them made my experience at Beijing Zoo more special.

This Part 2 of my Beijing Zoo blog is a memory I will never forget. It reminded me that the world under the water and the world in the cold are just as beautiful as the world on land. I am glad I got to see them up close, and I hope to share this happiness with you too.
