Hello dear hivers! Good evening. So I had the chance to visit Beijing Zoo for the first time, and I was really excited about it like aahhh omg this is it I am gonna see lots of animals. I had always wanted to see different animals up close, and this visit gave me that chance. Since it was my first time, everything felt new and fun. The zoo is very big, and there are so many animals to look at, but in this blog, I will share about some of the land animals I saw during my trip. Maybe next time I will make a part two where I talk about the animals that live in water and snow. For now, let me introduce you to the ones I saw on land.

The first animals I noticed were the banded mongooses. They are small, quick, and very active. I watched them running around, digging the ground, and playing with each other. Their bodies are slim, and they have stripes on their backs, which is why they are called “banded” I thought they were really cute because they kept moving nonstop. It was interesting to see how they worked together as a group, almost like they were a little family.

Then I moved to the area where the lioness was resting. She looked so calm yet powerful at the same time. Even though she was just lying down, I could see her strength and beauty. Her fur shined under the light, and I thought about how she is known as the queen of the jungle. I also learned that lionesses are the ones who usually hunt for food in the wild, which made me respect her even more. Watching her made me realize why lions are often called the “king of beasts"

Next, I saw a crocodile. At first, I thought it was a statue because it was not moving at all. But when I looked closer, I saw its eyes blink slowly, and I realized it was alive. Its rough, scaly skin looked very strong, and its mouth, even though closed, showed how sharp its teeth could be. It felt a little scary standing near the crocodile, but also amazing to see such an old and powerful animal in real life.

After that, I walked toward the ostrich area. The ostrich is the largest bird in the world, and seeing one in person really proved that. Its long neck and legs made it look tall, and it moved around with quick steps. The feathers were thick and fluffy, and its big eyes made it look curious about the people watching. Even though it is a bird, it cannot fly, but it can run very fast. I thought that was really cool and unique.

One of the most special animals I saw was the Przewalski’s horse, also known as the Mongolian horse. This horse is different from the regular horses I usually see. It is stockier, with a shorter body and thicker neck, I felt lucky to see one at the zoo because they are an important part of Mongolian history and culture.

Another animal that caught my attention was the rhinoceros. It was very big and heavy, and its horn made it look powerful. Even though it was so large, it was moving slowly and calmly, almost like it didn’t care about anything around it until it rested maybe it got tired. Its skin looked very thick, almost like armor, and I understood why they are considered strong animals. Seeing the rhinoceros reminded me of how important it is to protect these creatures because they are endangered in many parts of the world.

I also saw some giraffe and it looks so amazing how long their neck is lol.

As I walked around the zoo and saw all these animals, I realized how amazing nature is. Each animal is different in its own way some small and playful like the mongoose, others big and powerful like the lioness and rhinoceros. Some are unique because of their history, like the Przewalski’s horse, and others are special for their abilities, like the ostrich and crocodile.

By the end of my visit, I felt happy and thankful for the experience. It was a fun way to learn about animals I don’t usually see in daily life. This was just part one of my trip to Beijing Zoo, and I hope to share more about the animals I saw next time, especially those that live in water and snowy places. For now, I will keep these memories of the land animals I saw and how each of them showed me something special about the world of wildlife.
