Hey 👋
Where I live now, the weather is starting to get a little crazy. It’s always extremely hot in the morning but once it’s reaching midday to afternoon, we’ll have heavy storms.

Today, we decided to visit my cousin’s new home. It’s located in the suburb with a view of lush corn and rice fields surrounding it. I didn’t believe there’s a place like that exist only less than 10km from where I live. It’s like we were exploring the unexplored, the idyllic part of town that I barely knew.
Since we arrived at around 1 PM, it was extremely hot in the house and around the area but that didn’t stop me from exploring the place. There was a contrast that can be seen from the place. On the backyard, it’s pretty much sunny but from the front porch of the house, you can see that it looks like Mars, by that I mean it looks reddish as in mars surface. It's also dune-like setting where it's arid and reddish although it's not.
I didn’t do much alteration to the image but they already turned reddish when I use the pro version as if we’re living on Mars haha. I honestly wonder if that would be the case.
Unfortunately, this time I didn’t bring a camera with me, so I was just with my mobile phone going around the place trying to find some interesting stuff to capture. You could say the most interesting thing was the Sun today as the highlight and the main object.
This was how it looked like before rain and during rain when a few birds perching on the electrical line.
How’s the weather been in your place ?
Winter has broken her icy grip on my part of Australia, though, we've still been getting regular rain. This means it will soon be peak solar power time, and I am so keen to run my air conditioner to bring winter inside (minus the rain) to the little world I call my house.
Because, with the amount of heat and sunlight we get during our summer, the air conditioner is an essential object of survival.
It is always incredible to discover new places so close to home that are completely foreign or a surprise. I am still discovering such places around my new house, and learning how the the almost different biomes (seperated by a few rolling hills, or a long, straight highway) go from beautiful valleys with meadows and trees, to endless scrubland, and if you go a bit further north, endless desert that actually looks like Mars, with no trees. :P
Then there's the vineyards to the North East, and the Ocean to the West, full of algae and toxicity (at the moment). The city to the South. It's all beautiful and unique in its own way.
You just gotta look closely at what makes an individual thing special.
My favourite place is the abandoned railway lines North West and North East of here. They might be reused one day, but there are trees and bushes growing out of the gaps between the old sleepers, and its a (to use modern kids' language) a vibe.
Sounds like your new home is full of adventure too! I just recently moved to this place again and discovering a lot of new areas. Maybe I should go outside more and explore around. When I first moved in here, I thought there was nothing to see haha but now, when I have quite an open mind to explore, I saw plenty areas worth exploring 😊
Did you ever take pictures along the railway tracks? Sounds like that's awesome place to be!
No portraits, just some snapshots when I went location scouting for a model-shoot that never eventuated.
Some very nice shots, does look Mars like. Sometimes we dont have to travel far to get a different scenery. I know it is that way in my locale.
Oh summer is holding on here longer than usual. The leaves havent changed colors yet which is usually the case this time of year. Probably wont be raking by the time they fall it maybe snowing. No hard feelings about that, haha. Take care and happy days ahead!
It's about the same over here. It feels like the hotter days will be a bit longer. I hope your weekend is amazing!
Sort of same things...but never get the feeling of being into Mars...pretty hot in day, by night its thundering, lighting and rain.... thanks for a short trip to mars through your post.😉
ooh that's almost similar like here except where I was going, it looks reddish haha
I am better to be on earth 😄
Ooh! That's amazing.
Thanks!
Cool
Greetings,
What an incredible contrast to the sunny backyard.
Your photos really do transport the viewer.
Do you often find yourself seeking out these surprising spots close to home?
hahahaha yes! I rarely go out so this was quite a surprising sights to see.
Your weather there is really similar to us here. They change time too, and it's crazy. But there's a typhoon now here so it's been raining all night since last night. Then its raining again today. Aigooo
The new place if your cousin is really cool though, with t he surroundings and the sun is also really closer, maybe because there's no tall buildings. It'll be real peaceful in there, far from the notices in the big cities.
I hope you're not really impacted by the typhoon. Take care because these days it's a bit extreme. Anyway, the sun looks like it's a couple of inch from our head. It's definitely a lot more peaceful than the city.
Now it's rainy where where having a typhoon.
On the other hand, interesting to captured the sun. It's like it was dawn.
Thank you! The sun was indeed a lot closer than it normally would
Same weather here at my country Philippines. Sunny at morning and at noon time started to feel cloudy and later it's a heavy rain will fall. Love to see lots of corn because I live at a provincial place. Enjoy the view😊.
It's a crazy weather as well! It's been raining cats and dogs for the past few days.
