Haystack Cubism

That old school shape of Soc aggro life. Modern cylindrical bales are quite photogenic in their own right but I started missing these cubicles of old. Fortunately, somewhere around my home region, they can still be found. They stand across the great outdoors in a manner that reminds me of some Pink Floyd album cover or some such. It might have been another band. Not the bales but the way they are spread across the field. See if you can think of the actual album cover ;)

I saw them once, I got there a second time, the weather was not with me, I went there for the third time, in the early morning hours again, and here we go...

I remember I had recently undertaken some exercises in drawing and a basic one was to draw somewhere around one hundred boxes as quickly as possible. Three-dimensional perspective, three sides of a six-sided thingie. Well, due to a low angle here, my bales of hay look a bit two-dimensional but at least they have their shadows and highlights still on.

You got to know that beautiful feeling of walking around in the morning golden hours while most of the human world is still asleep. A fortunate byproduct of being a photographer, I would say. Always glad to meet the first soft sunrays of summer.

Life feels different then, doesn't it?

Peace!
