I had the idea for this story during a photo shoot in an old monastery in Saxony. Inspired by the old location, the story could have happened there in a similar way. Fortunately our models were not very squeamish and after a short explanation of me we were able to realise the story. All the pictures were taken in one evening.

The first one was taken in the barrel vault of the monastery, where I used the existing inventory to portray the chaste nun and the lustful monk. I illuminated the room indirectly with a torch and scanned the nun and monk. The candlelight is real and I let the moonlight shine through the window from outside with an RGB torch in blue.

Picture two and three were taken in the monastery church. Here, monk and nun had withdrawn to pray together. Unfortunately, the monk could not hold on to himself and got carried away to have a little fun with the nun. Who can blame him?

I illuminated the vault of the church with RGB lamps and the nun and monk were scanned together.

Tod/ Death Models: Matti, Marlene Kamera/camera: Sven Licht/lights: ich - me

The following tragedy occurs when the monk realises what sin he has committed. In his despair, he wants to undo it by killing the nun and thus commits a greater one.

The technique used to create the picture is the same as for the second picture. I illuminated the vault with a white pocket lamp. For the purple drama I used an RGB lamp.

I hope you enjoyed reading this. If you have any questions or notes, please feel free to leave them in the comments.

WHAT IS LIGHT PAINTING?

Light painting is a unique form of art. The darkness is illuminate by the artist with diverse light sources and light traces are paint into the picture with various light tools. Various techniques are use, such as camera rotation or other movements of the camera during the exposure. The creative possibilities are almost unlimited. All the pictures were taken during one single exposure. Apart from denoising, sharpening, cutting and possibly adjusting the white balance, the pictures are not processed on the computer.
