Heute möchte ich über ein Photoshooting der besonderen Art berichten. Meine Kindheitsfreunde haben seit Langem eine Band. Während eines Abends kamen wir auf die Idee, dass Sven und ich die Photos für das neue Album "Durst" machen könnten. Nun ist es nicht so einfach, die Termine von fünf Leuten zu koodinieren, die auch noch nebenbei arbeiten gehen. Letztendlich haben wir es geschafft und es entstanden einige Bilder. Ich bin etwas stolz, dass es die meinen wurden, obwohl ich einige Photos, bei denen Sven die Lightpaintings gemacht hat, besser fand. Vielleicht heben die Jungs sich die auch für die nächste Platte auf.
Today I would like to report about a special photo shoot. My friends, who I know since my childhood, have a band for a long time. One evening we had the idea that Sven and I could make the photos for the new album "Durst". But it's not so easy to coordinate the schedules of five people who also go to work. In the end, some pictures were taken successfully. I'm a bit proud that they choose mine, although I liked some of the photos Sven created more, because of the better lightpaintings. Maybe the guys will save them for the next record.

Das erste Foto entstand in unserem Keller und schmückt nun die CD. Wir beleuchteten hierfür das Glas mittels weißem Glasfaserpinsel und oranger Lampe. Unter dem Glas liegt oranger Organza. Im zweiten Schritt beleuchteten wir eine alte Bierflasche und wir drehten Stück für Stück die Kamera über 24 Schritte. Wichtig dafür ist, dass die Flasche nicht im Zentrum des Bildes steht. Zwischen Schritt eins und zwei wurde die Kamera abgedeckt.
The first photo was taken in our basement and now you can see it on the CD. We used a white fibre optic brush and an orange lamp to light the glass. Underneath the glass is orange organza. In the second step we illuminated an old beer bottle and we rotated the camera step for step over 24 times. It is important for this technique that the bottle is not in the centre of the picture. Between step one and two the camera was covered.

Das zweite Bild entstand im Proberaum der Band. Die Kamera wurde in fünf Schritten gedreht und die einzelnen Musiker bei jedem Schritt mittels schwarzem Glasfaserpinsel und "Sonnenscheinlampe" (eine Taschenlampe mit warmweißem Licht) eingeleuchtet. Danach haben wir die roten Strukturen mittels schwarzem Glasfaserpinsel und roter Taschenlampe kreiert. Kamera abdecken und nächster Schritt.
The second picture was taken in the band's room. The camera was rotated in five steps and the individual musicians were illuminated at each step using a black fibre optic brush and a "sunshine lamp" (a torch with warm white light). Then we created the red textures using a black fibre optic brush and red torch. Cover the camera and next step.

Die Portraits der einzelnen Bandmitglieder entstanden mittels vor der Kamera montiertem Prisma, ich wollte so einen schönen Effekt erzeugen. Zuerst beleuchtete ich das Gesicht mittels schwarzem Glasfaserpinsel und einer RGB-Lampe. Dieses Vorgehen habe ich auch in meinem Artikel über Lightpaintingportraits beschrieben. Zum Schluss brachte ich mittels roter Lampe und Glasfaserpinsel noch etwas Struktur in den Hintergrund.
The portraits of the individual band members were made using a prism mounted in front of the camera. I wanted to create a nice effect that way. First I illuminated the face with a black optic fibre brush and an RGB lamp. I also described this procedure in my article about light painting portraits. Finally, I added some structure to the background using a red lamp and a fibre optic brush.

Für das Shooting trafen wir uns zwei Mal und hatten immer viel Spaß. Meiner Meinung nach ist auch Spaß das Wichtigste am Lightpainten. Wir haben jedenfalls viel gelacht.
We met twice for the shoot and always had a lot of fun. In my opinion, fun is also the most important thing about light painting. In any case, we laughed a lot.
