Halloween is almost here and we’re officially in countdown mode. Today at the studio, a professional braider reached out to collaborate, and I invited one of my models so we could create a pro braid on her. To make it stand out, we tied the concept to Halloween; based on the accessories and gear we had, we added a Scandinavian-inspired makeup look and named the project “Warrior Spirit.”
We set a dark, Halloween-friendly mood; both the photography and videography were done in that atmosphere. Today I shot the main images plus some behind-the-scenes to share with you and hear your thoughts. The core focus was to showcase the braid, so we used two light sources and a textured background. An RGB light alongside the key light helped the hair strands pop, and the fog machine elevated the scene.
The overall style is Viking; I also gave the model an axe and a shield. In the video I’m preparing for Halloween day, you’ll see even more details. I was so excited about this shoot that I wanted to share it a bit early. 🙌
