Hello community hive friends
Good afternoon everyone, today I want to share some of my photography results about small animals, namely lady bugs or koksi beetles.
Maybe only some people have ever heard the name of this animal, but it's different when you see the shape. Its name is lady bug, but ordinary people usually know it as ladybug, even though this is not a ladybug at all, because this tiny animal belongs to the type of beetle, namely the koksi beetle. Lady bugs are quite common all around us, especially in plantations and weeds.

There are about 5000 different species of this lady bug, circulating around the world. Besides being known as a lady bug, this insect is also called another lady beetle or ladybird beetle. Insects look very beautiful with various motifs and body colors.

Most people really like this koksi beetle because of its unique body shape and has a beautiful body color. besides this lady bug is also not harmful to children because this star is not venomous. But farmers like it, because some species of these insects eat small insects that become agricultural pests. Just one lady bug, can eat 5000 pests in one lifetime.

But there are also several species of lady bugs that like to eat leaves so that they become pests for farmers. The main predators of this beautiful insect are birds, spiders, or other insects that are larger in size. Ladybugs often pretend to be dead when they encounter these predators. lady bug has the largest size only 1 cm.

This lady bug has a unique body shape that makes it easy to distinguish from other insects and its body has two colors, namely red and black.
When flying, it flaps its hind wings rapidly, while its rigid forewings cannot flap and are stretched to increase lift. Its hard forewings can also function as a protective shield.

The koksi beetle has short legs and a head that looks bent down. This position of the head helps it when eating small animals such as aphids. On his feet there are also microscopic fine hairs (can only be seen with a microscope) whose ends are like spoons. These hairs produce a sticky, oily material that allows ladybugs to walk and stick to difficult places such as glass or ceilings.

The process of taking this photo is very simple using a smartphone and I use a tool with a macro lens.

I use a macro lens because the object I take has a small size, so if I use a regular smartphone, the results are blurry and unsatisfactory.

That's why I use a macro lens so that the picture is good and can focus on the small object that we are photography
