You can hear the rain coming, Volunteering in the Amazon Rainforest

In the absence of endless buildings, cars and shopping malls and stable wifi, it is possible to notice some things that otherwise pass us by.
In the rainforest one can catch some interestings signs that the rain is approaching.
In the beginning of my stay it announced itself by a darkening sky and sudden strong winds. But then, we started to hear the rain coming! It sounds like a far away waterfall slowly creeping closer, or sometimes: coming running!
And sometimes you can also hear a raincloud slowly passing by (without the rain reaching you).

And besides the sound of the rain every day we have the nightime orchestra of insects, birds and the occasional group of monkeys passing by. It's beautiful!

It really is amazing what one all can hear in the absence of cars and planes!
