Northern Flicker

in Photography Lovers4 years ago (edited)

A member of the woodpecker family the Northern Flicker is a bird that can be quite shy when it see's a human. Usually I will hear their high pitched squeak before I see them.

They are the only woodpeckers that will frequently feed on the ground. So while you might find one hanging in a tree it is very common to see one bouncing around in the grass looking for its next meal.

Thanks, kind of thought this looked suspicious.
