Richardson's ground squirrel

I often will see these little creatures when I visit the cemetery near my house. Their network of tunnels stretches for several city blocks, trying to find them holding still long enough for a picture is a challenge.

One thing I learned about how they communicate. The will usually squeak to each other and in these squeaks they are able to convey info such as whether a human is approaching. What colors they might be wearing, whether they appear to be armed or if they are more passive.
