Transformers Exhibit Photography

Having grown up in the 80s, The Transformers was just making its debut at just the right time. I can remember the novelty of seeing them in their packaging and wanting to have them all. Luckily, I was able to have a few as a kid that my brothers and I would share. The cartoon was on before and after school at different points in time, and its popularity then launched a bit of a cultural phenomenon. They are still hugely popular today, partly due to nostalgia and also because they have gone through many iterations and are still relevant in terms of movies and TV shows, on top of the toys that are being released each year.

This exhibit was a treat to behold; it was part of a Calgary Comic Expo a few years ago and featured some original toys, concept art, and even an almost life-sized Optimus Prime statue. I must say this was a ton of fun to take in and see the space dedicated to this long-enduring genre of transforming robots.
