There are darker days even in the early days. Though sometimes brighter days when the moon is so high. We cannot tell what will happen in a new day to come. All we can do is to strengthen ourselves knowing there are so many things that must be done.
Everyone has their own sad stories but it’s hard to tell just by looking at their expressions. Some people choose to hide those sadness through a smile. Most of us misunderstand what someone’s smile is. We couldn’t help it since there are stronger people who know how to handle their emotions despite what they’ve been through. They’re good at pretending, not just themselves but other people as well being fooled.
I decided to capture that single expression that gives a certain individual to feel alive. Yes, a smile is the only expression that can express being thankful to life. No matter what the struggles are, you can see someone trying so hard through their sweet smile.

Go on, just keep smiling. It’s a weapon how you can face those challenges in life. Even though life is so hard, you can overcome it through that smile. Why so? Simply becase you can tell yourself that happiness is the only way how to live a life.

Paul was born in Macrohon, Southern Leyte but currently living in Cahayag, San Francisco Southern Leyte. He graduated the course of a BS Mar-E or Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering in 2019. Although writing is his passion so instead of sailing he decided on writing.
